I know Downtown Davis to normally be covered with college kids, and bicycles. We headed out to the G Street Wunderbar to check out one of our favorite Funk bands who usually play in SF. This spot is closer to home, so we hopped on the opportunity to see them performing in nearby Davis.I liked the bar. I read reviews in the past which seemed mostly negative, but I gotta say it was a great time. The interior is spacious and clean. There are pool tables and multiple bar areas to walk up and order a drink. I met a few really cool people. I thought it would be the younger UCD crowd, but there were actually ALOT of older folks there. It was a pretty good mix of ages, which felt very friendly and comfortable. The staff was great and didn't seem to mind us stepping in and out for fresh air. Though I would think that's fair considering the whopping $15 cover charge. I didn't know about it, but I was told there was an opening band performing first that people were paying the high cover to support their cause. Once inside there's plenty of room to dance, and the bathrooms were better than I've seen at many other bars. I NEVER waited in a line here, and it was Saturday night! Yahtzee!
