We love this place. They are all very friendly and have lots of wonderful books. They are all in good condition and even have some videos and a few other little things. We have always found something to buy every time. The prices are very inexpensive!!!!! What a great find to find this book store!

My husband and I stayed two nights in Carpinteria.I read the reviews on Trip Advisor and we had to check it out.My husband and I love books. The value is great here.Hardbacks are $2 and paperbacks are $1.They had a large variety of books, including best selling authors and children's and young adult books. The staff (who are volunteers) was extremely friendly and offered to help with our book selections. The books were arranged so that you could easily find the subject matter that you are interested in.Libraries suffer from low budgets and the Friends Bookstore, which is next to the Carpinteria Library uses the money from the sales to help the Library. They are also more than willing to accept your donations. You get great value while helping the library.

We were in Carp visiting friends and hanging out at the beach over fall break. One lazy afternoon we had an opportunity to stop by the Friends of the Libary Used Bookstore. The ladies watching over the shop that day were so kind and patient, as my 8 year old rummaged through their selection. He ended up using some of his souvenir money to buy a bag of books, including one that showed how to build a boat by hand, the way native americans in the area did. When we returned to Arizona, he ended up taking the book to school and shared his vaction experience with the class. The ride home was also nice and quite as he read books the entire way home. He has asked to return to the book store next time we are in town. Thanks for such a nice vacation memory!

I am local Carpinterian and visit this used bookstore often to either donate oe buy used books. Used hardbacks are $2 and used paperbacks are $1. The Friends of the Library Used Bookstore frequently has book sales, so you can even purchase books at a deeper discount. Friends of the Library Used Bookstore is operated by volunteers and all proceeds benefit the public library, which is wonderful! Also this store front has ample free parking, is light and bright + very clean. Volunteers are very friendly and helpful,

The Carpinteria Friends of Library Used Book Store is a great place to find a book, get sightseeing information, or just chat with friendly people. Prices are good, books are organized, staff and customers eagerly give tips on everything Carpinteria. When I was there they were open only in afternoons.
