You need to hike to Berry Creek Falls if you are at Big Basin Redwoods State Park. The hike is a total of 8 miles and it is a moderate hike. You will love the beautiful falls once you arrive. Give yourself plenty of time, take lots of water and a snack or a light lunch. You can eat at the falls. The entire hike is beautiful, lush forest, giant redwoods, a rainforest like feeling just like at Olympic National Park in WA.

We got to Big Basin around 8:00am paid our fees and started hiking. We went counter clock wise as recommended on another site. We only saw 1 other hiker on the way to the falls but once we passed the falls we ran in to people smoking pot, drinking beer, and playing music while they hiked. Not my idea of a peaceful hike back but to each their own. I am glad we started early to avoid the crowds. We hike fast so it took us about 4.5 hours. I would probably do it again but get on the rail earlier.

Make sure you go when there has been a good amount of rain. The falls were flowing strong when we went and it was BEAUTIFUL! They were the best parts of the hike. I wish they weren't all gathered in one place though because the rest of the hike after the waterfalls was boring... Couldn't wait for it to just be over with. And be careful running the trails because I sprained my ankle on it! Luckily, I was able to hike the remaining ~3 miles back to the car.

The only amenities are a bike rack about a mile back and a couple benches. This is a place to go if you are a good hiker, biker and you love trees and nature. Don't expect anything else. See my review about Waddle Creek / Big Basin. Berry Creek Falls is in the middle of that park. I love going there.

Hiking to Berry Falls worth the time it takes. Simply gorgeous. Amazing forest of old Red Woods be prepared, bring water, and wear good hiking shoes some of the trails have roots, and are narrow. Saw wild life deer, squirrel, a hawk with his/ her fresh kill having breakfast.

This trial kept me coming back to Big Basin, even in the early morning when it was 30degrees and some of the small pools of water had frozen water. I've heard the sea trail is pretty good too, but I haven't had the pleasure of hiking it yet.

This was a very nice a moderate trail. I recommend starting this trail early because it takes about 5hrs depending on how fast you hike. I started at 3pm and didn't get back to the parking lot until 8pm. I had to hike for about an hour in the dark with our iphones as flashlight. Lucky for us we were able to find our way back. It was an amazing experience especially in the dark.

The falls were a pleasure after a challenging hike. Berry Creek trail is the best trail in the park. This area gets crowded so reach early in the morning in summers.

I highly recommend this hike for those looking for an intermediate-level trail with spectacular views of waterfalls in Big Basin State Park. It's about 10.5 miles if you do the full loop, all in the shade of majestic Redwoods.

Get an early start. Water always running. Gorgeous. Do the loop if you can and stop by Silver and Golden Falls.

Best in springtime and early summer. In winter trail is muddy & in autumn water flow is low. A significant hike, don't attempt unless prepared & in shape.

Well groomed trails - nice and wide. Be prepared for a steady climb! Make sure to take a snack and plenty of water on your hike. Comfy clothing, good shoes!
