This is one of my favorite small recreational lakes to visit and spend leisure time at. Tucked away on a short back road drive in Arnold California, this little lake packs a punch with it's very clean beach, parking & bathrooms on site. A hiking trail leads you around to the back side of the lake where fishing, a rope swing for flying into the water. No motor boats - just kayaks, canoes, rafts and inner tubes. Fishing is excellent year round. There's a children's play park and BBQ facilities. Very pretty.

Given all the recreational opportunities around Arnold, it's easy to forget what White Pines Lake has to offer. Scenic, it has picnic areas, beaches, playground equipment, and can be kayaked and fished.

This little lake surprise me, it comes with all kind of option for activities. Trout/Bass Fishing, Hiking, Little Beaching Area, Bathrooms, Volleyball/Basketball and a Playground for the Kids. Awesome park no fees too I RATE 9/10 stars the only problem is the fishing reports only. When they going to release more trout because I cant find it anywhere :'(

For the summer a lake is a lake. We love our little lake but during the summer there is no way you can hardly get near it from all the vacationers.

We had a picnic (7 of us), played on the playground, played basketball, rode bikes on the trails. Took lots of photos of the water and the birds. There were several rafts and canoes on the water

We didn't find this lake as pretty as others in the area - not much of a beach or scenery. We stayed about 10 minutes. It is very close to downtown Arnold, so convenient.

What a beautiful and relaxing place to spend some time. Perfect for taking kids fishing or riding a stand up paddle board. Children's play area, stocked trout, and a workout area.

Beautiful place, but Getting a parking place was a nightmare in July. And you really have to feel very social because everyone and their brother is there, and many of them have had a lot to drink.

Beautiful little lake with picnic tables and playground near by. It is near the Arnold Rim Trail and the Logging Museum.

This is a nice little lake, good for picnics and walks. There's also a baseball diamond and a new disc golf course. The course is really fun and a pleasant way to kill an hour or so. Please help keep it up by picking up trash and keeping it family-friendly.

It's really worth taking the time to spend a few hours at the lake. kids love the logging museum and learning about the history of this scenic little niche in the Sierras. A good place to sketch and paint, White Pines is more like a neighborhood lake where you can chat with passers by, and appreciate some of the old time history of this former logging town. My comments presume that you have already visited Calaveras Big Trees, and some of the more scenic wonders further up Hwy 4. No matter where you walk in any areas of the forest around here…along creeksides, lake shores, or simple mountain paths, if you look carefully something wonderful will catch your eye. Take your time and enjoy nature here.

We drove here for a look. The lake was frozen over and made for some lovely pics. The logging museum is here too
