This place was great for the whole family. Miles of walking/biking/skating trails, picnic areas, a couple of historic buildings, and buffalo! There were supposed to be some sculptures but I ran out of time and didn't find them. Very nice nature area, a building with a few animals to see and people to tell you about the park, a pond with ducks and a walkway. A great place for a picnic, walk around, take the kids or spend some quiet time.

Walking across the Prairie looking at scats and tracks. Nice educational center with live kestrel. Definitely take the kids to see the buffalo.

A nice peaceful place to walk around. There are a couple cool statues to take pictures of. There were some ducks on the lake. When I was there it appeared there was a fundraiser run happening. A nice little probably don't' need more then an hour to check it out, but could spend several hours if you need to relax.

Very nice city park with varying things to do and see. The wildlife, monuments, amphitheater, playground and native vegetation were very nice and interesting

I had some time to spend one morning while my friend, whom I was visiting, was at work. Pioneer Park was a nice change of pace from the city. Terrific view of the capitol at Bison Path and some wonderful art throughout. The buffalo, schoolhouse, cabin and nature center add to the charm.

I was in Lincoln for work and had some free time in the evening. I walked around Pioneer Park and was very impressed. There are several ponds, statues, buffalo, old country school house, and much more. Very nice walking/running paths.

Nothing better for a kid than to eat some hot dogs or burgers grilled outdoors, maybe play a game of frisbee or softball, or just catch, and roam through some woods and get in touch with nature. Just big enough and "natural" enough to feel like you are away from the city and in the, well not exactly wilderness, but outdoors, don't know why more people don't take families there for cheap entertainment, used to be packed on weekends and all summer long, should still be.

We took our grandkids to Pioneer Park. We took in the well maintained Nature Center where the staff were helpful and took time to explain many things. We hiked paths that led us to a live bald eagle and vulture exhibit, flower gardens, elk and buffalo viewing, wild prairie and nature walk and so much more! Everything is well maintained!

I used to live right near this park and frequented it most days. Perfect for a dog walk, frisbee, picnic, bike ride etc. Its the best open green space in Lincoln by far. It's super easy to get to. I was always surprised that it wasn't busier than it was. You should have no problem finding your own space here. Plenty of too walk around and explore. Not much for hiking trails. I usually just hiked the perimeter of the park to make the most of it on some horse trails. There is a nature center and buffalo viewing at the far end of the park, just keep driving all the back until you can't go any further. Go here and enjoy it!!

My wife and I went here for a concert and found it a good venue. I was easy to get to from downtown Lincoln. There are nice trails and scenic ponds. We were surprised by the columns near the main parking area, an interesting piece of history, including the plaque. The amphitheater gives everyone a good view.

Right in SW Lincoln, this is a great place to explore nature. Great hiking trails in the woods, the prairie. Excellent animal exhibits and helpful people.

This a wonderful nature experience. This park is well cared for and loved. The trees that were lost to an evergreen disease are being replaced and the part is looking really good again. It is also worth taking the nature hike through the Nature Center. You can see wildlife and insects and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
