If the place is so awful Julie F, why do you keep going back when they only have simulcast racing? Its not hard to find out when the live races are running. So just a travelers tip, if you like the fun and action of the live horse racing, you should find lots of excitement and a good time there!

Once upon a time attending the races was an event. Fonner's glory days are long over. Unappealing concession food. Grubby and bare bones atmosphere. I understand sometimes there are live races but every time I've been there were only simulcasts.

Do you get a decent size burger etc., for the price - yes.Does it really hit the spot? No. I was very disappointed after hearing others say hot good it was and what a big burger you get for your money. A big bun maybe. We have not been the least bit tempted to return.

For an older horse track, this place has an ambiance second to none. When going to a horse track one does not need the fancy linens and the TURF CLUB is exactly what you need. Your own table has a personal TV and Keno plus horse racing is available for wagering.
