We were trying to find something to do in Ashland and I came across the Oregon cabaret listing on trip advisor. We called and bought tickets and set a dinner reservation for the show Dames at Sea. We thought it would be cute because my boyfriend is retired Navy. It did not disappoint. We had a little table on the balcony. We ordered the Chef's special that evening, which was a charbroiled steak with mashed potatoes (these potatoes were absolutely delicious) and asparagus. The meal was good and the so was the service. We bought two of the mugs for keepsakes. For dessert we had the Chocolate Dick Hay Pie, which is a local tradition. It was very good. The show was wonderful. It was very well done and for such a small little theater it was a nice intimate showing of this classic. The costumes were good, the set was small but done well and the cast were very good. It was a cute love story to watch as a couple. I would highly recommend visiting this interesting spot. I was told when we were shown to our seats that this building was previously a church before it became a theater. It is an interesting building. There really isn't a big sign on the building, took me a few minutes to find it.

We've been to the Cabaret several times, this time to see "Backwards in High Heels", a musical about Ginger Rogers. The show was very fun, with easily recognized tunes and good singing. The dinner was very good, but not spectacular. This is a great night out, especially during the season when the Shakespeare Festival is not presenting. Or as an additional show to the Shakespeare Festival!

It would be easy to overlook this small theater, tucked away on a side-street in downtown Ashland, especially with the outstanding Oregon Shakespeare Festival just a few blocks away. But that would be a mistake. Housed in a renovated church, this is an intimate venue which offers first-rate shows. We were fortunate enough to see "Backwards in High Heels", which is the musical story of the life and career of Ginger Rogers. What an impressive show, with a cast of 6 extremely talented performers from all over the country. The theater is set up so that you can have dinner, dessert, or drinks; or just come and enjoy the show. The only thing I missed was the presence of live musicians -- actors performed to pre-recorded music. But I will definitely return to OCT the next time I'm in Ashland!

Located in an old converted church, this theater has an intimate feel that really conects one to the performers. They put on great shows with four or five performers. You will really enjoy your evening.

The Cabaret Theater is a great change from the Shakespeare Festival. The current show, "Backwards in High Heels" was very good. Great singers/dancers. The chairs are a little uncomfortable for the length of time one has to sit in them.

Probably the in the top 5 best dinner menus in Ashland. Make reservations. Eat dinner before the show, enjoy a glass of wine, eat Dick Hay pie at intermission, chased down by some decaf coffee, and enjoy the second half of the performance. Shows are typically musicals and the caliber of talent on stage are top notch. The venue is intimate but you don't feel packed in like sardines. No matter where you sit you're close enough to see the expressions on the actor's faces. The Cabaret is a must do when you visit Ashland.

We walked the steep hill to the Cabaret Theatre to inquire about seats for that night's performance. There were seats available. We sat in the balcony and had a great view. This is a renovated church. The show was "Backwards in High Heels, the Ginger Rogers Story". There were six cast members. Each one was very animated and, obviously, enjoying themselves. The singing was great as was the tap dancing. What an enjoyable evening!

Theatre sits on the side of a very steep hill with the nearest parking 2 blocks away. Very poorly laid out for anyone who needs to use a wheelchair to get around. Mistakenly, I purchased tickets without checking first to verify that I would be able to get parked and get into the theatre. Those "hazards" were far beyond my capabilities and there are no refunds under any circumstances! I would strongly recommend anyone with mobility issues--first check to make sure you can get parked and be able to enter the theatre without any issues--before purchasing your ticket. Don't take the word of any staff person. I was mis-informed & I'm out the $95 it cost me!

We have attended shows at the Cabaret for many years. They always have high quality shows and they offer a very excellent dinner and desert. It is a small and intimate theater where there are no bad seats.

Great introduction to Shakespeare. Not a bad seat in the building. Recommend reading synopsis before seeing.

Offerings are hit/miss in terms of OUR interest. Performance usually very good. Dinner, not so much. Prefer to come for dessert.

We go to Ashland every year to take in the theatre productions at the Shakespeare Festival, but most years we find time also to go to the Oregon Cabaret, which is just a couple blocks away. The Cabaret Theatre (which also offers dinner) specializes in light musical and comedy productions, often building on old hits but in new forms. The energy, joy and laughter at the Cabaret are always uplifting. It's an especially good entertainment destination on Monday nights, when the Shakespeare Festival is dark. Check it out the next time you go to Ashland.

First of all, my niece Abena Mensah-Bonsu was in the show stompin revue "Ain't Misbehavin". My sister and I had great seats and a wonderful dinner. Magnificent performance and nice staff.

We have never been disappointed with any performance we have ever seen, and we see one a year for the past 20 years. Not a bad seat in the house and a great venue.
