the jazz station

I'm constantly amazed...you go to a jazz club to listen to the music and there's a table next to you with 4 people who came to talk about their kids, or the new car or their latest visit to the doctor.But not at The Jazz Station! Mostly its very quiet and people really dig whats happening on stage.The musicians often comment what a pleasure it is to play here with a very "hip" audience.But, its OK to have fun too...especially with a really good band for dancing.I'm liking this place more and more.

Yeah, its small, seats abt 60-70 people. Actually has a small dance floor,The admission changes from group to group, members pay less...its all cheap for what you get.Even national headliners are no more than $20. and less for students and members.Good choice of wines and serious local beers for $3.00. They have some snacks but no serious food.

Track Town USA, Nike, Autzen Stadium, Steve Prefontaine, Spencer Butte, Skinner Butte, Ducks. All names you might think of when talking about EugeneEugene, Oregon. Now add to that list THE JAZZ STATION! The Jazz station is the place to go if good music is what you are looking for. Live jazz music Thursday through Sunday. Veteran artists and young up and comings. Sunday all comers jam sessions. One of the coolest things....this place is an all ages venuevenue, so if you want to tech the 12 year old what REAL music is? You can bring them to the Jazz Station anytime. Check out their website for the weekly schedule.

This is a small, 70 seat jazz listening venue completely run by volunteers. They have a bar featuring Oregon wines and packaged snacks as well as soft drinks.Top jazz names love playing here even though it's a small place. The manager of the show emphasizes that people come here to listen to music and if you want to talk you will be "shushed" and that is generally true. Feel free to "shush."$5 for non-members.
