Went to see Lend me a Tenor as our first experience in the Pentacle Theatre and certainly will return even with a bit of a drive from Portland. The presentation was professional, fun, a perfect choice. The size of the theatre gives each attendee a great view and the sound system is so clear, but best of all the cast held all of us in the palm of their hands throughout the entire production. Bravo!

A theatre in the round (well in the U) set in the woods. The plays are nicely done, the atmosphere is magical, and it is a treat you should give yourself just because life is short and TV sucks.

It's a ways out of town - but absolutely worth the drive. Nestled up on the forested hillside above the Willamette River, the theater building itself has been designed to fit in and around the trees and greenery. It's small so you really have to enjoy being very close to the actors - and trust me - you'll get some eye contact with the performers in this intimate setting. Performances are probably average for a local "little theater" group - but the troupe really does a great job - and I'm there just to be entertained - they don't have to be perfect.

Look at the schedule for a show you think you may like. Since this is community theater, the acting varies. Overall, they do a pretty good job and once in a while there is a real gem where the cast really gels. The wooded setting is beautiful. Come early and enjoy refreshments in the attractive lobby or out on the deck.

Love the choice of shows and the acoustics and view great from every seat. Love the intimate crowd and the opportunity to go downstairs at break to get some wine...

Great venue, outstanding casts, directors, comfortable seats. Only minor inconvenience is the bathrooms and snack bar being downstairs.

Theatre in the round, nearly; very comfy seats and not a bad one in the house. We never miss a show and, of nine annual shows, have only been disappointed once or twice in many years. We enjoy live theatre in general, and the Pentacle specifically has a large number of talented actors from Salem, Portland and surrounding areas who audition for each show. We appreciate the many volunteers who make this happen and this unique, 60 year old venue.

We are visiting Salem and wanted some local flavor. We went to see "The Nerd" live on stage at the Pentacle Theatre. We got front row seats at the theatre that holds about 180 patrons. The place was 90% full and the crowd really enjoyed the play. They have 9 plays on the program this year. If you are in the area, this is a hidden gem. Go see a play. AT $18.00 it is a great deal.
