A very nice winery on the umpqua river. Nice wines nestled on the river. Able to bring our dogs which was a real plus. They got along well with all.

The surroundings bring a smile to your face as soon as you open the car door. Starting with the lanky collie a.k.a. our friendly welcome committee, the spotless chicken enclosure behind us, white geese lazing on the lawn, a river rock raised stone pond complete with a statue of a frog leaping add a pleasant whimsical touch to the setting. The large two story country main-home, situated within a few steps of the winery cottage, both nestled up against the peacefully flowing river brought completion to the scene. If I ever thought about owning a winery, my mind’s eye would have pictured this setting. The wine was nice and easy sipping, served by the owner’s friendly and informative daughter. When I tasted the coffee and butterscotch liquor I was instantly addicted. Bring a lunch to enjoy before or after tasting and relax on the tree shaded porch overlooking the river. Would highly recommend and we will return.

What a wonderful find. The wine& spirits were top notch! Sandy is a gem! Family owned and operated business on the river, pack a lunch, you won't want to leave! We will be back Sandy!

While traveling to Seattle to visit my sister, my husband and I decided to off in the town of Roseburg to try some wines and enjoy the sunny day. We went to a few tasting rooms and then stopped at Glaser Estate. The tasting room overlooks a scenic river view, and the patio view was reminiscent of the Southern France countryside. We met the winemaker, Sandy and her son, Leon who also is the distiller, and they were charming, personable, and extremely hospitable. We tried the whites (I fell in love with their Sauv.), and the reds. My husband and I were delighted with their Merlot Nouveau. Then, to our surprise, we were encouraged to try their spirits. While we are definitely wine connoisseurs, we were compelled to buy a bottle of their coffee liqueur and limoncello. The experience was such a treat to break up the monotony of our road trip. I usually don't write reviews, but felt that this had to my exception. I highly recommend this gem to anyone who needs an enchanting reprieve and some excellent products to show for it!

Dear Patron,I recently reviewed your TripAdvisor post about Glaser Winery and Distillery. As one of the managers and owners, I want to send my deepest apologies for the inexcusably horrible experience you had at our location. We have gone through major transitions in our business, including letting go personnel who do not understand the values of our establishment. We would like to offer you a $20 gift certificate towards any products at our tasting room the next time you visit. If you could send me your name or email address, we will save it so you can redeem it whenever you come through the area again. Thank you so much for your feedback. It is helpful in understanding what did not work for our customers so that we do not let this happen again. Kind Regards,Jessica Glaser

In a region with a great many wineries with great views and locations, Glaser stands out. Its back patio overlooking the North Fork of the Umpqua River simply invites you to linger. The grounds are surrounded by whimsical art pieces (not to mention live chickens) and the tasting room in the converted farmhouse (the winery & distillery themselves are apparently in the adjacent barn) is tastefully decorated and pleasant. The wine itself was excellent, reasonably priced, and lives up to the expectations of a major wine-growing area. The added attraction of the distilled spirits (they make a couple of different vodkas plus some liqueurs - definitely try the lemoncello - help make the overall experience special. But if you're fortunate enough to be hosted in the tasting room by the patriarch of the family business, David Glaser, you're in for a special treat. He is a real character with a dry wit that kept us all laughing throughout our visit.Bottom line: Any visit to the South Umpqua Valley region or Roseburg, OR deserves a stop at Glaser Estates.
