I enjoyed seeing Mount Jefferson. It is a stratovolcano. It is also the 2nd highest peak in Oregon at an altitude of 10,495 feet and is in the Cascades Range.

Damn - I love this mountain and its surrounds, but it has thwarted three climbing attempts. But, each time, the hike in and out made it worthwhile even when the climbing was bad. Good trails, but rugged.

Hiking at the base of Mt. Jefferson is magnificent. Enjoy the widerness and commune with Mother Nature. Jefferson Park at the base provides hiking and is laid out with beautiful tarns with crystal clear water. You will never forget hiking in this area.

When I was at Timberline Lodge I had a beautiful view of it from my room. It was interesting to see the way the clouds changed around the mountain, and see the alpenglow after sunset!
