Taste some great wines on the terrace with amazing views - Excellent wood oven pizza as well as other good offerings.

This winery was recommended by many when we reached this area. It is a new and modern facility and the views are wonderful. After sampling a few wines we ordered a flat bread prepared outdoors in their wood fired oven and a glass of our favorite wine and sat down at a little table in front of the fire. It was a cool and misty November day so the setting was perfect. They have a nice selection of light lunch fare that pairs very well with their wines and makes for a very relaxing experience.

We stopped here on a very hot day and enjoyed sitting on the terrace outside in the shade. The facility is beautiful. Lovely view of the mountains. Sounds like it would be fun on an evening when they had music entertainment. We ordered the food plates to go with the wine flight tasting. Expensive, I thought. Very good curried chicken salad with crackers ( $11) and a cheese plate with two cheeses, a small baguette and grapes ($13). But --we needed food. We were disappointed with the wine --as was generally true of most of the so. Oregon wines that we tasted (compared to CA wines) They have no body --no lasting taste. A quick swallow and they are gone. We we told that it is because the season is shorter than CA and the grapes do not sit on the vines as long to gain the full body that we were looking for. Makes sense. But --this place was lovely if you just want to get away.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon, new clean very nicely built building, very pretty to look at in addition to the great view....grapes and valley on one side and Table Rock on the other. Sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the tasting, $5 (refundable if you buy wine) for 6 tastes and 2 of their cheese, bread, fruit, nuts, salami & olive platters. Serving staff very friendly and efficient. It wasn't overly busy but a steady flow of customers. The 2 employees behind the tasting bar weren't as personable as you'd expect, could've been a little more animated and friendly....we did buy 6 bottles of wine in spite of them. Would return again but hope other employees would be working instead.

Kriselle Cellars has a beautiful big blonde wood and massive windowed tasting room with an impressive stone fireplace and well spaced seating They also have a sweeping open veranda overlooking the vineyard, and, on a less smokey day, the lovely hills of southern Oregon There is a daily lunch special as well as a small menu to choose from with recommended wine pairings We chose to pair our simple but delicious cheese plate -- the Cotswold herbed cheddar was stellar--with our six tastings I'm not usually a white wine aficionado but the Sauvignon Blanc was much more complex than usual and one of the two bottles I came away with We went on a Monday and were the only customers The server was attentive and informative but also gave us time to savour

Visiting Kriselle one gets the feeling somebody called 1-800-vinyard and had a pre-fab vineyard, complete with wood-fired pizza oven, flown in and plopped down overnight. Contrast the Kriselle tasting room with, say, the "working vineyard" feel of Cliff Creek and you get my drift. But the opulent tasting room is a perfect match for their wonderful cab sauv which recently scored an impressive 91 in the June edition of The Wine Spectator. We visited late in the day and had the place nearly to ourselves... a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. They stay open late on Thursdays so we plan to return and try the pizza. Their bottle price hits the high end of Rogue Valley wine, but the quality is excellent and the view from their tasting room is inspiring.

I have taken the 40 minute drive out to Kriselle twice now. I have nothing but good things to say. The 1st time the place was packed and the server instantly made eye contact with our group and pointed to an open spot for us at the bar. All the while pouring and talking to the customers she was already taking care of. That was a nice 1st impression, particularly since customer service tends not to be of high regard for many Southern Oregon's businesses, particularly restaurants and wineries. Glad to know there is another exception. They should hold on tight to their manager. The place is beautiful, panoramic views of the valley and Table Rock. Comfortable chairs and a well thought out expansive deck to enjoy it all. Yes, the wines are good too, particularly the Di'tani red blend, I have purchased 3 bottles at the winery and one at Martino's Restaurant in Ashland. Oh, and they serve hot food. Another great bonus. The wood fired flat bread pizzas are awesome. My favorite so far is the chicken sausage with mushrooms. 1st time I had it the mushrooms were marinated, 2nd time they were not. Great both ways....but really liked that marinade! Hint, hint.2nd visit was on the Roam the Rogue tour on May 25th. This event, in my opinion, was overpriced and not worth the effort. With that said, two wineries stood out with high honors. Cliff Creek and Kriselle, with Agate Ridge a close 3rd because of the food paring they offered. We did not make it to Del Rio or the one in Butte Falls. Folin was our 1st stop and I would never go back....Kriselle again was packed, we were acknowledge the moment we set foot inside and whisked over to another room that appeared to be put together just for the tour. The owner and manager were pouring, which I thought was another very nice touch and reflect the pride this winery is taking in all they do. The food paring was hearty and wine delicious. We stayed for lunch and enjoyed mingling with others that were having their own good times. So there you have it. I hope others go out and visit Kriselle. As a local, I attempt to visit all the new wineries; this one stands out as one of the best.
