The only reason that this theater is still open is because it is the only one. Most locals will tell you that they would rather drive 45 minutes to the city (Oklahoma City) or an hour to Tulsa than watch a movie here and for good reason. The tickets and limited selection of average-at-best concessions are absurdly over-priced because... you guessed it, they're the only ones in town! The lobby is small and on weekends, 'Love Thy Neighbor' really applies because you have to apologize for stepping on everyone's toes, bumping into them and possibly dumping your over priced concessions on them. This is not helped by the fact that there is no temperature regulation. The theaters do not get warm, they get HOT; but the lobby will be cool, as long as you are the last show of the evening or the staff opens a side door. The bathrooms appear clean but smell disgusting and in bad need of a plumbing update. The entire venue needs more than a face lift, it needs a gut job and concept re-invention! It isn't romantic for dates, it isn't inviting for families, it isn't budget friendly or customer focused. A prime example is that they do NOT offer matinees which would be more conducive for night-shift workers, morning-class only college students and for families which is a drastically underserved demographic throughout all of Stillwater. The sad fact is, especially when the weather is dreary, there are limited recreational activities in Stillwater, ESPECIALLY for families and the movie theater in Stillwater knows it; you'll come to them because you have very slim alternatives. There is no drive or incentive to improve the state of affairs that this venue has slipped into because they are the one and only so, like the title infers, they do just enough not to be shut down by city inspectors. Most of the staff are helpful, personable and kind which is why I gave the theater two stars and not one, and that is saying a lot. Just like bad service can make a great place sour, great people can make a sour place better, but there is only so much they are able to do.

I grew up going to this movie theatre, and even though they have done a few renovations over the years, this is still not the best theatre.It had beg bugs once, and I am still not convinced they are gone. Stillwater deserves a better theatre and one more appropriate for a college town. It's far better to do the 45-minute drive to Edmond to see a movie. Less chance of getting bed bugs in your pants, too!

I know I just gave the Carmike an average rating but it is just fine. I think it is a standard mutli-screen theater. Everything was fine about it, clean, comfortable seating, ect..Nice place to go see the latest movies. Several restaurants nearby.

Good theatre. I guess i'm kind of biased because i used to work in a theatre so our standards were a bit different. i feel like the prices are super high, i don't think a drink should be the same price as the ticket.

It's the only theatre in Stillwater. It needs a complete renovation with new seating and projection and audio equipment to make it competitive with similar modern theatres. The other reviews here are accurate.

It's the only theater in Stillwater, so if you want to see a movie you are stuck with this one. It's not the cleanest place the previews don't even start when the movie is scheduled to start--first you have to sit through 10 minutes of commercials. It's usually either too cold or too hot in the theaters.

If this theater had any competition, it would probably be empty. The bathrooms are horrible, two available and usually one is out of order. Almost always dirty commode bowls and water leaking on the floor. No hot water for hand washing and soap dispenser usually empty. The carpets are horribly stained and dirty. Concession items cost a fortune unless you buy the bucket for popcorn and return with it for refills. We don't get all the latest movies but that might be a distribution problem. The managers are indifferent to any complaints such as a cold theater. Be sure to wear heavy warm clothes in the winter. The concession staff are young students but they are very polite and accommodating. I wish we had another place to see a new movie but we don't.

Just like most movie theaters, everything is overpriced. Tickets range from 5.25 for matinee to $13.00 for 3D movies. I'm not positive but I believe all of the theaters have been updated to stadium like seating. The food prices are insane, for larges of popcorn, drink, and candy, you're looking around $25-$30 dollars. There is nothing particularly wrong with carmike 10 but nothing to make it great.
