Gorman is a wonderful place to experience the different seasons, the terrain, flora and fauna of the North Central Ohio highlands. If you are lucky to live in this beautiful area, it is a great place to take a daily walk and get some exercise. If you are visiting the area and are looking for some peace and solitude, hiking one of the easy trails will not disappoint. The park is free and open throughout the year. It is located on Route 42 in between Lexington and Mansfield. There are many easy trails that traverse the grasslands, marsh and the woodlands. My favorite walk starts at the parking area, goes by the pond through the fields, up the hill to the spring that feeds the stream that runs through the park., and then back down via the marsh. The visitor center has some cool exhibits of local birds and reptiles.

Great site for field trips. Hike in the fields or the woods. Animals in the building are a real plus! Also, you can book the staff to come to your school with animals etc once a year or so. Great place and all is free!
