I called well in advance if our visit to make sure there would be kayaks available for rental. We had several places we could have selected if not. The person on the phone assured me repeatedly that the worst case scenario would be a few minutes wait for them but that there would be no problem in rentals for that day. We drove an hour to arrive only to be told that we would have at least a two hour wait but they couldn't even assure that. We were then told that thy had plenty if canoes available but couldn't make any promises. When I asked the person who describes herself as the owner whom I spoke with and related the message she told me that it could have been her that told me that but there were canoes available. When I told her that I very specifically and repeated asked about the rental of kayaks she told me she was sorry and to let her know what we wanted to do. No attempt was made to rectify the situation. We will not only not recommend this place, but we will go out of our way to warn everyone we can to steer clear of them.

We had a great time. There was a large group of people there, but it was well worth it. The vans arrived promptly to pick us up afterwards. No complaints.

We visited here after riding the St. Helena and getting a milkshake from the ice cream shop across the street. We decided to play mini golf first and then think about taking a canoe ride. The lady at the counter was not friendly. We asked for two for mini golf and after we paid she seemed to "forget" we were there. We had to ask for the balls and a score sheet. When we walked up to the first hole we realized that we didn't have anything to write with so my husband asked her for a pencil. She gave him her pen and told him to make sure to return it. So you have scorecards, but you only have one pen that has to be shared between the paying customer and the clerk? Weird. The course is in really bad shape and looked like it hadn't had proper maintenance for a long time. It honestly was not worth the small amount of money (six dollars) to play it. Needless to say, we did not want to do any further business with them and will not return to rent a canoe. Some proper upkeep and a friendlier attitude would do wonders.
