First, YOU ARE SKIING IN OHIO! Don't expect this to be a fancy resort. We visited twice this winter. We went tubing on MLK weekend, which was their opening weekend. We had a voucher purchased through The Fish. They offered an opening weekend special, and the tubing hills were very crowded at times, necessitating long lines. When we arrived, the magic carpet operator patiently explained how to get on and off. We returned for a first time ski outing for our boys. Both of the ladies who ran the rope tow were very patient with beginners and went out of their way to help the kids. The conditions were perfect. The lodge dining area and restrooms were clean. They could use clocks at the lifts/tows. We rented equipment before we left; when my sister and her family skied, they waited a long time for rentals.

So at the start of winter they had no estimate on when they would be open. Then when they finally did open, they were closed Monday-Thursday. They are only open on Friday-Sunday. So pretty much if you work weekends, you should absolutely not buy passes for this place. I made the mistake of buying a 4 person pass AND a season pass before they posted the open days. I am extremely disappointed and would not be surprised if this resort goes out of business.

We came from Branson, Missouri. Our 90 year old Grandfaher lives in Butler. He wanted to try the tubing. I called in advance to make sure that they would be open. They said they would be, so we planed our day there unstead of going to the other skiing area towards Mansfield. We had four of us who paid for skiing (rental & lift tickets) and went from 3 to 6 and then decided to pay another 20 dollars to ride our Grandfather down the hill just one time. They said they had closed the tubing area since no one had shown up to tube. I said that was the whole reason we had come there instead of the other place. They offered for us to come back another day, but we only had one day to ski and tube. I was very dissapointed that they would not re open for us. I had to talk to a manager and offer him the solution to the problem. I said we would saty until the lift closed for skiing and they could move thier lift operators to the tubing area and let my Grandfather at least ride down one time. Their employees only said sorry and did not work to fix the problem, it took us being persistent in what had been told to us before we even came and having to ask for a manager. The reason I gave them two stars instead of one, is the employees were very nice and ultimately they did open the other lift and allow my Grandfather to ride down the hill. They didnt charge the others of us to ride down with him. In the end they did the right thing, but it really took some convincing to make that happen. If you are going during the week, calling ahead to make sure they are open will not be good. If you only have one day go somewhere else. If you have plenty of time take your chances here. The area is very good for begginers. You cannot depend on them to honor their hours of operation without an argument. The hill is small but still good and the instructors and staff were very nice. Hope they get there operating hours figured out. And learn to open something that they said ahead of time would be open for us if we wanted to tube.

I had the scary experience of working here at clear fork ! I was well received by the patrons and loved by many! I work for insecure women who all had brought drama to work ! I loved my job and was very good at it even requested, however that seemed to bother the women bosses I was a threat maybe they felt ! I was lied to and be littled by Kelly and Cora !! I was after let go and enjoying time with my kids there called to the office and was told I was and I quote "f....ing stupid" I was wierd and a bad mother for allowing my child to step on a pond that was frozen over ! The first comment from Kelly was "I hear u have said im sleeping with a worker Joe " my mouth dropped ! I couldnt believe the caddy and dramatic info I was given I demanded the person saying to come in and he stuttered and said he didnt say that but because his girlfriend wa s acting strange I had to have said something. Besides all that silly stuff it was very very unorganized they never took care of seson holders I have had many complaints and heard many talks of lawsuits .

What a great experience! Visited here this past weekend and had a great time! The staff was friendly, helpful and fun!We rented our equipment (which was easier than I expected) and got lessons. The next day we went back an spent an afternoon in the tubing park. What a great time! Again, the staff was friendly and our experience was great!Thank you Clear Fork Resort! We will definitely be back! Clear Fork is a great family oriented resort!

I cannot say enough about Clear Fork Resort. Their staff goes above and beyond to take care of their customers. Everyone was very kind and helpful. No lift line, but as soon as everyone figures out how great this place is, that won't last long. In talking with an employee they are in their 3rd season of opening. They have done a lot of renovations with plans for more. We will continue to visit Clear Fork Resort.

We chose this resort over another in nearby Mansfield Ohio based mainly on my hope that a smaller and more remotely located facility would be just what my wife and little girls needed for a little getaway. Clear Fork was exactly that. Others have written negatively about the condition of the ski lodge. Having been to alot of smaller resorts over the years I say that this one ranks right with the others. Its a ski lodge and in that all you should look for is warmth, ample place to sit down to relax. The food options were fine, not substantial by any means but enough to tide you over. The tubing hill was excellent with extremely helpful staff who worked hard to keep things moving smoothly. With a super 2 hour tubing deal running through February the place was crowded but still held a nice pace. We will visit again soon.

This was my son (9) and I first time coming to a resort like this. We came in and waited for someone to greet us at the desk for about 10 mins. Finally a woman came out the back her name was Annie, she was so rude and mean! After we got our passes to tube, son and I had a blast! When we were done we went to the bar to get a hot chocolate. The bartender was complaining how slow it is, and how slow it's going to be the next day. He didn't greet us with a smile. Or say anything but give us our drinks. Second day there. We tried the skiing. Visited the shop. Got some things we needed. The young lady was a pleasure! Very nice and helpful. Got our skis. We told the men in the back we never skied before. He never showed us how to put on the skis. Thank goodness there were patrons to help! Had so much fun, even though we were bad at it! Went back to tubing, and my son had an accident, he fractured his toe in his boot, they were very very caring and took son over to the med center, checked him out and I took him to the hospital. There was one gentleman who I was so impressed with, I didn't get his name. But he showed us everything to do. He was nice, friendly and patient. He even stayed with my son and calmed him down while I got my car! If you read this you made our trip with your niceness!! You said you knocked your teeth out in an accident which made my son feel better! We won't be back but overall we has so much fun!!! The staff needs hospitality training there!!!

My husband has been skiing all over the U.S. since a small child and we took our 14 year old for his second time this past weekend. One lift was open but it seemed to be handling the amount of people using it just fine..no wait..Both of the boys had fun and yes for my husband it was on the smaller scale for hills, but he knew that going in and still had a blast. The tubing was fun also and we hit it on a sale weekend so only $10.00, the lift is a little slow going up and with the fresh snow we got that night they were a little slow. I would think they would have something that they could ride down them in to pack down the new snowfall rather than wait on the riders to do it. With the smaller kids they were barely making it down the full length of the hill. Still a great time had by all, when you don't have to walk back up the hill to tube, that is what I am talking about. The only problem I had was the parking lot, why do we not plow it? We were again there when we had gotten and continued to get snowfall, however the parking lot snow was untouched and up to the bottom of the car door.

We were looking forward to heading up north to go tubing and such; but were disappointed in the slow belt, small hills, and the price was way too high. We were well aware of the price before going, but if the hill was more worth it, than we would have been more than willing to pay that kind of fee. My husband and I have been to other resorts in Ohio, so maybe our expectations were too high, but our 16 year old son had never been to one, and even he couldn't believe that he was seeing what "little" there was.

The place has potential. Its small, the staff is very friendly. The lodge needs better seating and a fireplace. Food prices were just a tad higher than a normal street cafe but lower than other ski resorts. Conditions were nice as well.

First of all, the webiste informed us to expect a couple lifts open and we also called to find out how many runs and lifts were open. Upon our arrival ( after 2 1/2 hr drive) we found ONE lift open on a saturday during Christmas break. We did make the best of it going up and down the same hill for 4 hrs. The rental equipment is brand new and the rental staff works very hard and are really great guys. Keep in mind, because this equipment is new and they are measuring feet and doing alot of one on one work the wait can be long. WE opted to go eat at the lodge and come back when the line was down. DO NOT EAT HERE!! The deep fried food and canned soups are horrible and way over prices. There were 3 of us and I spent 40 bucks! Your better off having a beer at the bar and ward off hunger. Hit Bellville, which is a skip down the road, and get some great pizza at Fast Eddies. There are also a couple other options there and its a really cute little town.Back to the "resort"....They do have a little ski shop with no suvenir in site. We really wanted a beanie with the resorts name on it or something. My son picked this place out and lives in Orlando, FL so he would have loved a momento besides the later remifications from the cafeteria food served in the lodge. BLAAANight skiing was very pleasant, we did enjoy our time. Its really hard for us not too, we love time together and skiing whenever and however we can get it. Looking around there is much potential and most of it not being utilized. Many runs not open and the terrain park offering little besides golf balls of ice here and there. There is a downstairs bar in the lodge that is completely empty and some staff having no idea what the place has and how to promote it. The girl in cafeteria couldnt even tell me if you had lockers. The front desk girls were very nice but remember we called ahead and was told that 2 lifts and most runs were open, so I think it would help if the front desk knew a little more too. The most helpful person was one of the lift operators, great guy, gave me tons of info- Thanks nice Lift operator guy with a red beard and Daniel Boone hat! This place is a fantastic place to go to learn to ski or practice ski boarding without people falling over you. Eat before arrival and Eat after you leave. Clear Fork has new snow machines and so much potential that its frustrating ! Its really a great place that isn't quite there yet but I think it will eventually arrive. I dont know if we will go back, but they will have to be offering some fun events, more trails and another Groupon deal for us to consider it. Oh yes, Groupon is a site where we were able to purchase lift tickets for this place for 20 bucks, rentals were 25. Perfect place to start.BECAUSE the holiday break wasn't enough for this place to step it up for a wk and the other trails we couldn't get too... I have to rate this place a POOR otherwise I could have rated a very good for an Ohio skiing experience AND that's saying alot for someone who has enjoyed skiing at the best resorts and serious elevations.

It's not the Alps or Aspen, but for small slopes, it's okay.

We came here with our family of 7 and my youngest was even able to enjoy herself on the beginners slope and the tubing area. I loved the young lady at the desk when we were signing up for our day's pass. Decent prices and good food from the lodge was another plus. We spent about 7 hours and can't wait to return. For our first visit with this resort I would definately give them the highest rankings available!
