Wonderful you need to take your camera and binoculars. The birds are fabulous. Be sure and take mosquito repellant (we used Bug Beater Butter) if you go in the early morning or sunset

Mornings are gorgeous here. Birds are abundant at this time too. The wetlands is a series of cell-lakes intended to cleanse run-off water before it enters the water table.So wonderful to see this county-sponsored effort west of town. The marsh lookouts are a hike but so worth the expansive view of an authentic Florida marshland.

I spent a very enjoyable early morning here, bird-watching. I would have liked to have spent a second morning too as I did not have time to get to the lookouts over the marsh! I had nearly 30 bird species, including 5 species of duck, most of the herons & egrets, Wilson's Snipe, Bald-headed Eagle, Sand Crane, Wood Stork etc. No rails or soars on this trip unfortunately ....

As a volunteer I helped out with a program for Indian River Charter High School -They were there to learn about the water treatment process and the wildlifeMy role was as a naturalist and I had a great time.The students were engaged mostly because we saw so much wildlife, from young bald eagles, to otter, turtles, andhill cranes and so much more.Wear comfy shoes bring binoculars and get outdoors
