One of my favorite places in Gainesville. All the trails and alligators are a must-go. It is nice to bike all the way from the DNA bridge until the Alachua Sink to see the alligators.

Alachua Conservation Trust has over 5 miles of trails at Prairie Creek Preserve that are accessible for the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail. They are about a 10 minute drive from downtown Gainesville. The main trail-head is located at: https://goo.gl/maps/zVufQ and you can park your car there as well. Trails may be wet in places so wear appropriate footwear. Bring lunch as there are benches scattered throughout the trail system. The orange trail terminates at the beautiful Prairie Creek coming from Lake Newnan.
