Liked what they had on display. The staff was very informative and the displays were great. I learned about a couple of species that I was sorely lacking with information on.Wish there was more to see. The site is rather small

It's really quite beauitful with the knotted Cyprus coming thru the river banks. We really didn't see much wildlife but our guest really liked. Warnings of gators, but not a sighting or sign to report. The outfitters have the general appearance & hygiene of "Swamp People" on the History Channel.. Not real eager to be for telling with tips or hints about your trip. We are very experienced paddlers and kayak with our own equipment on a regular basis. The float to the second dam was easy. The padde up , was a workout. Family's with obvious little experience we passed returning upstream were struggling. Take a kayak, canoes are too awakard for the bends in the river. If you would like to see Cyprus in there natural state in Palm Beach County this is it. Next stop ; Everglades.

The river center located in Burt Reynolds park in Juiter Florida is a delightful surprise and a must see if you are in the area. I knew it was there but never ventured over to check it out but did the other day and it was the best. Beautiful tanks with a variety of fish, turtles and other sea creatures to look at and a great open tank that you can interact with sea urchins, star fish, snails and sea cucumbers. The staff is knowledgable & friendly. Adults and children loved touching and learning about the creatures that lie beneath the sea! It is clean & interesting in design. You can spend as long as you like but can do in an hour. They have a little gift shop with fun things that isn't very pricey and they work on donations so don't forget to donate to this worth while attraction. After leaving her you can go out and stroll along the river grounds. Great place!

This is a nice place/way to learn about he wildlife indicative to the area. It's off of US-1 in Burt Reynolds Park (replaced the History Center). when you walk toward door, view the timeline of the area. Inside it's small but very well maintained. There's several salt water tanks and 1 fresh water w/many diff types of fish and plant life, some animated exhibits to talk. There's a touch tank and I (as an adult) was allowed to hold a sea urchin, star fish and (slimy, ha-ha!) sea cucumber. The gentlemen staffer was very friendly and helpful! They've a classroom for teaching and clean bathrooms. I didn't walk the nature trails but told there were some. Definitely worth stopping in for. Free, but donations accepted and well worth giving one.

We recently attended a Friday night event at this Center. The staff provided activities and crafts for the children, s'mores you could make from the bonfire, and featured an incredible guest speaker. All ages young and old attended and it was a fabulous, interesting, and fun evening with a truly friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The Center is open to the public as an attraction but also conducts alot of educational functions and special activities with schools, scouts, summer camps, (561)etc. If you're in Jupiter and like local-type places to visit like the Jupiter Lighthouse, you'll want to stop by the River Center to see the marine life, wildlife and learn a few things!

This was our second time here and it was still very enjoyable. So many different ocean creatures to look at AND they have a great touch tank that you can touch & hold a few little creatures:) The staff are very informative and friendly. We will for sure go for another visit!

Planned a trip to West Palm for a dive trip. Wind finder crushed my plans for the day so we took a trip up the loxahatchee river. We saw a large variety of wildlife including several alligators, turtles, manatees, and lots of birds. At the end of the river, there is a spot were the famous "Trapper Nelson" (Florida's crocodile dundee) lived. You are able to dock, tour the property, and use the public restrooms, and then head back. On the way back, we noticed totem poles from the Chickee Indians. Cool trip and totally free (given you have your own canoe or small boat)

A GREAT place to bring your little ones! As you enter a beautiful fish tank displays a mangrove and its ecosystem. Follow around and enjoy a touch tank full of interesting sea creatures! A couple more fish tanks, water conservation displays and a cute little gift shop. Perfect for younger students or even preschoolers. Check on line before you go for scheduled activities such as craft/story times or camps.

Educational but fun place to visit. The hands on aspect makes it unique. Fun for all ages! Knowledgable staff clearly loves their job and adds to experience.

I took my 4 1/2 year old granddaughters to this for the first time yesterday. They enjoyed seeing all the fish tanks and especially the touch tank. It is small and easy to get in and out . Educational and informative. Some of the prettiest fish tank displays in the area. Also, there is a very nice playground in the park that the children really loved.

Nice enough but just not much here. The volunteers (?) are nice and there are things to learn and see. Might be fun for kids but its about a 10 minute visit for adults. You may want to consider McArthur Park, 10 miles south (very nice and more to do but there is a fee) or Jonathan Dickenson Park, about 10 miles North (lots more to see but also for a visitorsfee
