Located with North Beach, area just for dogs. Kept clean by the city, and a great location for your dog to enjoy the water. Beach is popular, and you need to get there early on the weekend. There is also street parking, but spaces go fast.

This is well maintained. There is a fee and there are special days and hours it is open, but there is always a park employee there to monitor the rules and regs.

For years, I've walked past the sign and the entrance to the Dog Beach. Recently, I decided to take a look. Tons, well maybe just dozens, of dogs, running up and down the beach. Some were being thrown balls, Frisbees, and other soft objects to retrieve, both from the water and from down the beach. They ran singly, in twos, and in groups. To be very anthropomorphic: they were definitely having a good time. And, what impressed me the most was that there was very little barking going on.The Dog Beach is at Hollywood Beach, between Pershing and Custer Streets. There is ample metered parking nearby. The Dog Beach is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 3-7 P.M. (4-8 P.M., during Daylight Saving Time). You must have a permit, either daily ($5/day, Hollywood resident; $10/day non-resident) or 6-month ($30/dog, resident; $60/dog, non-resident). Permits can be purchased from the Park Ranger on duty at the beach. And, you are asked to sign in each time you arrive at Dog Beach. And, as much as it seemed to be a "social" time for the canines, it appeared to be no different for the humans. There were singles, couples, and families there. I saw groups of people chatting and interacting. As I said previously, Dog Beach is not just for the dogs!

Really liked this place, great food options, the dogs are fun and the slots seemed very fair. It is a nice change from the overpriced hype at gulfstream.

This is a small section of Hollywood beach between Custer St and Pershing where on Fri, Sat & Sun you can bring your dog off leash from 4-8pm to run and play.the dogs have a blast!

Well if you are a dog owner around here, it's not like you have much choice. But anyway, it's good, thanks god. So go there and let your dog make some friends.

What a great place to bring dogs to frolic, but the hours are limited and because there are so few places where dog owners can spend time with their furry family members at the beach in South Florida, it gets WAY too crowded here at times. My tip - don't plan on sitting down and chilling; you will get overcome with running, playful, often huge dogs. That said, I have two small dogs - chugs - and they loved coming here and playing with the other dogs of all sizes. They couldn't get enough of playing in the sand, digging, chasing the lapping waves. Overall, I'd say this place is a real treat.

I'm so glad this place is here. My dogs love it. I have a boxer that will swim all day, and a collie that just rolls in the sand. The only down side is when people bring in food because then both my dogs just sit and beg instead of play. It's clean, fun and often has the same people there so your dog makes friends that they are happy to see. Def. worth doing with your furfriends!

Good place to take the dog. I had a bad experience where someone's dog came on my blanket and didn't want to leave. It just wanted to bark at all of us. I called out for the owner and no one came forward, I had to pull the blanket from under him but overall its a nice place. Your dog should be trained because there are many different breeds and people there.

Not trying to bash the place... However, I drive to the address listed, just to check it out, and there was no beach close by. Maybe someone can post the real address.

Dog people are interesting to say the least! Atmosphere is fun! Dogs playing everywhere. Worth going if you've never been. An absolute must if you're a local. Parking is terrible and they charge a fee. They also require you to show your dogs papers to make sure they all have their shots, which is good because it keeps out the riffraff. Note: if you park south of the entrance and enter to the south, no fee. Just walk north on the beach till you hit all the dogs and you're there!

We went to the Hollywood Dog Beach today, and the beach was lovely, the Park Ranger friendly, and most of the people were friendly and watched their dogs with the exception of one. Well, there's always one in the group, but my two dogs loved the experience, and we will be going back.
