Great dive!! Lots of life and plenty to look at. The bottom is 140 feet so definitely and advanced dive site.

This is a Beautiful Wreck!!! Full of swim through s for the beginner and tricky ones for the well seasoned! They have a Snoopy scavenger hunt for the well seasoned. Not sure I have ever seen anything as awesome as the US Flag swaying full open with Barracuda sitting at it's edge like it was one guard duty! If your in the area... Go See This!!! (Rainbow Reef Dive is Fantastic to dive with)!!!

200+ dives on the Spiegel Grove...ask me to go this afternoon and I'm in. 60' to the top of the wreck. 135' to the sand. We've seen Goliath Grouper, sharks (rarely), rays, in December we saw a Whale Shark. Last summer we found a black Frog Fish!! Horizon Divers does double dips (two dives) where as most dive operators in Key Largo only do one wreck dive then they go to the reef. Tech divers will LOVE...LOVE...the Spiegel. Perfect for teaching, and learning! She is an advanced dive though just because of the depths, and the occasional current....keep that in mind.

Excellent Dive, Currents strong, please follow master divers instructions, because to get from boat to the wreck you have to use the ropes because the current is super strong. Visibility was not superb but we had a lot of fun. You have to dive several times in order to cover the whole wreck... This is a huge ship.

Humongous wreck. Lots to see. Fun deep dive. Challenging given the depth and strong currents. Very cool to see the ship emerge from the gloom as you descend the mooring line.

Despite I prefer diving on real wrecks, this artificial reef is always worth a visit. I would recommend booking a double dip with Horizon Divers or Ocean Divers for your expedition.

I dove the Spiegel 3 times with Scuba-Do dive company which has free guides so we were able to check out the whole wreck, we were lucky to have excellent vis and not much current. This wreck is sooo cool, did some swim throughs. Our 2nd dive we got to see the giant grouper, lots of barracuda, it was Awesome-a must see if your diving in the Keys!

This is a large, deep wreck, so you can't see everything. I was able to get to the stern on both dives, but it resulted in less dive time. We were tempted to swim under the helicopter pad on the second dive, but decided against because of safety and the amount of air we had. Maybe next time.

We hit the Spiegel and were fortunate to be the first there in the morning and to get our chosen buoy. Visibility was good enough for the season and current wasn't too strong. Did some swim-throughs and saw a school of barracuda. I've since seen video of the giant groper that hangs out there and it's a monster. She's a big ship and well worth a visit as a wreck.

The Spiegel Grove is a good Wreck to dive at least once. I have done it both as a recreational diver and as a technical diver (that is I've been around the deck and in the sand on the bottom for extended period). You need to have good buoyancy skills and air management because the sand is below recreational depths. The deck is well within them - but can have currents. If you experience one just head to the opposite side of the wreck from the current and use the structure to block it. But be sure you plan a sufficient air supply to return against the current to the anchor line if needed.

I did three fantastic dives on the Spiegel grove. This wreck is for advanced divers. With plent of swim throughs, coral and plenty of life. I highly recommend Rainbow Reef Divers to bring you out for this dive.

This is a great dive...we went out with Ocean Divers who were great. Very professional and respectful of experienced divers. We doubled dipped - Diving Nitrox gave us plenty of time on the wreck. It is a little disconcerting to run into a 7 foot to 8 foot 500 lbs grouper inside the wreck but it was amazing to see him. The currents can change so you need to be aware but the condition of this upright wreck is great.

For the advanced divers, awesome wreck to go through. Definitely need to find the flag on deck and take a pic with it. Good heads up to follow the signs. Only go in the rooms marked. Lady died the summer we were there.

I always dive on the Spiegel whenever I get to Key Largo, and this trip was no exception. Dove it with Rainbow Reef Dive Center, as usual. It's a reasonably deep dive, averaging 80-100 feet, but it is such an awesome ship with so much to see, I wish I could augment the 100 AL tanks with Nitrox. Sadly, RR only does Nitrox in aluminum 80s, and that limits MY bottom time. I gave this review a 4, rather than the usual 5 as the vis was about 10 -15 feet. Lots of wind and waves this week. Still fun, but you don't get the overall visual treat when you can only see that far. Still great fun though.

You can't do the whole ship in one dive, it is so massive. Coral and sea life growth since its sinking is impressive. Great underwater photo opps.
