My husband and I were visiting my parents, who live in The Villages. This park was close by and allowed us time to go somewhere to spend time outside with our dog. We read reviews about the nice dog park and decided to go. We were unaware that the dog park is actually a fairly small area that's fenced in. So we let our dog wander off-leash throughout the park. People didn't seem to mind, but we were probably technically breaking the rules. There is a boat ramp, a kayak/canoe rental area, a playground, and a disc golf course. It looks like a nice place to spend some time with your family. We walked the 1 mile trail and saw very few other people. The trail goes mostly through trees, even though it is very close to the lake. The park was free and there is parking for about 10-15 cars.

Dog Park is very small and there are a TON of burrs....be careful! Otherwise, it is a beautiful place. We visited in December 2014.

Love love love the automatic water bowl! This is by far The nicest dog park around. Only down side is that they put it so close to the picnic area. I have 2 red nose pits and people get scared when they see them. Although they are not aggressive people instantly want to say something negative.

Has large playground that my niece and nephew enjoy. There are fitness/nature trails; you could ride a bike on them, but the trail isn't very long. There are a few geocaches hidden within the park that are fun to search for. Pavilion that is available for parties is located next to the playground and volleyball courts. We've gone back to this park many times. Free admittance.

Lake Okahumpka Park consists of 130 acres, a two lane boat ramp, a one mile bike and fitness trail, a mountain bike trail, picnic area with pavilions, tables & grills, a playground, a 9-hole frisbee golf course, dog stations and restrooms. This is a great park for the family.
