A very small portion of this park is open on a daily basis for a mile long hike to Blue Pond. However, twice a year, in April and in October there is an Open House special event and the whole park is open. There are many miles of horseback riding trails, hiking & biking trails. In addition, during the Open House, which offers free admission to the public, we have boat rides, children's games, hay rides, horseback rides & ranger guided hikes through the park. There are hot dogs, hamburgers and bar-b-q sandwiches and drinks for sale, too. Open House dates for 2014 are April 12th and October 25th. Come out and enjoy this lovely park. Occasionally we like to spend a Saturday exploring Florida's State Parks. We like to do some moderate hiking. We found Dunn's Creek State Park on the Florida State Park website. We drove about an hour to find out it was not open to the public (which was not indicated on the State Parks website. We did find a walk-in spot that is part of Dunn's Creek and were able to hike a bit. But there were not maps for the trails or even a sign showing the layout of the park. Very dissappointed.
