I've been to this bar several times (like, I used to go every weekend). Friday and Saturday nights they offer sink or swim (if you don't know, you pay one price and drink all night). That's a good deal if money is tight but you still want to go out for a night of drinking. Problem is, here the drinks are all watered down! Like really, I counted one night and 25 drinks in I still didn't have even a slight buzz. Twenty- five drinks!!!!!!! Let that sink in for a moment. The owner Jackie seemed nice at first. She has her own group of friends called Jackies Angels and, they do some community service. That's kinda cool, but, God help you if you aren't one of them or even worse if you get on one of their bad sides! I learned this this hard way! Used to go in and only mildly get ignored by staff and their number ones. Then I started hanging out with a group they didn't like for some reason or another, Long story short I ended up pissing off Jackies best buddy April. I have no idea what I ever did to this chick but her and Jackie did nothing but glare at me and the group I was with all night long. Really are we back in high school? I was cornered in the bathroom by April and told that my friends and I had better start thinking of going elsewhere from now on. Anyhow, the dance floor is big, don't think of going out there if you don't know how to dance though!Ceilings are nice and high so it's not toooo smoky in there.Bartenders are ok, but, goes back to who your friends with as to what your service will be like and whatever you do.....don't forget to tip! The door girls are very friendly!!The DJ's are pretty cool, to bad they are FORCED to play the same list of songs over and over all night and told not to accept certine requests simply because people won't know the dances to them. The bouncers, really don't take any crap and quickly get rid of loud mouth drunks lookin for trouble. Don't expect them to look your way unless you're one of the Angels though. The whole feel of the place is high school clique. It's a shame

Visiting this establishment for the Halloween costume contest was a horrible experience. After placing three separate calls days before the Saturday night contest we were unable to find out any information about the costume contest. We decided to show up in costume and find out how the contest was set up. After asking five separate rude employees how the contest was being run not one of these morons new anything about it. We waited three hours and finally the DJ announced at 12:30am he had a list of ten people entered in the costume contest and he then called their names to come out onto the dance floor. We have no clue how these ten bar favorites ended up on this "list". I can assure you none of these ten bar favorites would have been on the floor at any other contest. We were shocked at what happened and immediately left the bar knowing we had won two first place prizes and two second place prizes in the last week in other contests. This whole thing was rigged and set up from the beginning to place the bar regulars and favorites "in the money".I can't express how ridiculous the security dumbos act, thinking they have such an important job. They are unbelievably rude and act as if they're protecting the US President. I can only imagine the IQ level of these losers. Bottom line is steer clear of this place and the watered down drinks and very high prices.

I completely agree with the "complete waste of time" post. Very snobby atmosphere where you can't get drinks. I do not recommend.

The worst experience I've had in awhile. We came in a bus of 22 and saw that they were busy. We understand what happens sometimes when you are. Unfortunately we ended up waiting at the bar for 20 minutes to try and get service. I personally still didn't get any and ended up leavimg. The only service that we got that night is when we offered them a 100$ tip. Of coarse we got served 2 minutes after that. This place was an utter disappointment and I'd never come here willingly again.

Dance lesson where great, the instructor is awsome. Prices and cover where too high. $7 cover no life music. Drink prices kind of high as well. Watch your drinks, we had a few half full drinks getting cleared off while we where dancing. no food but a outside hot dog stand pulls up late in the night.

We went over Thanksgiving weekend. The place was crowded but no so much that you couldn't dance and have fun. The service was very good, the security was great and the dancing was a boot tappin' good time. We will definitely be back.

First time here. $15 cover charge which included drinks. Bud select draft or mixed ( cheap) drinks. Cover is cheaper if you don't want the drink option. One line for drink bracelets which moved quickly. Less stressful than trying to get a drink thru crowd at bar. Line dancing was fun. Crowded but lots of elbow room. Everyone was nice and had a really great time. Only downfall was the $1 charge for tap water for the designated driver. Especially because we were generous with tips. Also they allow 18-20 year olds in and my friends beer did get " stolen" when we were distracted. Just a good reminder to keep your eye on your drink especially the ladies. We will go back.

My girlfriend and I were vacationing in St. Pete Beach and somebody recommended this place to us. They played good music and the dance floor was pretty large. The drinks were reasonable and the waitresses were overly attentive. The cover charge was too high but it was still nice to find a country bar on a beach vacation.

Not even worth one star, dot, whatever the rating is...We have lived here for awhile and have gone to this establishment on several occasions but tonight we saw that if we weren't the local favorites we were going to be treated like crap... We had a guy shoulder through our little group and stand right in front of us. When I approached a bouncer and said that he was being aggressive and trying to start a fight with us he told me he couldn't leave the door to assist us and then called 5 bouncers on us to escort us out of the bar! I have never been more offended in my life! All we were trying to do was have fun and this guy pretty much kicked us out of the bar and let the other 'bully' do what he wanted. How rude! I grew up in the South - in the REAL country...this bar is lacking respect and has no idea what country is all about!

The Trough is great. Unlike the Dallas Bull, which can't decide whether its a night club or a country bar, the Trough is a true country bar. I used to go to The Roundup on thursday nights because it had the cutest girls, and I live right down the street from it. But now its not even close. Judging from the way the crowd has grown over the past year and a half, I know I'm not alone on making the switch. The place itself is waaaaaaay nicer than The Roundup. Instead of a strip mall bar with 9 foot ceilings, you get a huge alone building with 30 foot ceilings. That makes a huge difference when you consider how many smokers a country bar can have. Oh, and did I mention how much cuter the girls are? The owners are really nice people with a genuine concern for the welfare of their customers. The Bartenders are great. (especially Derek, he has quite possibly the best memory of any bartender I have ever seen.) The security has presence, but don't go on power trips. I used to think the Trough was a nice place with a lot of potential. Now that they bring the crowd, it is nice to see that potential being realized.

As a southern girl, when my Florida friends suggested this place for a night out, I was a little skeptical. I put on my best cowgirl boots and daisy dukes expecting to feel out of place, but apparently everyone wears here. I was even pleased to see some cowboy hats floating around. Overall, I had a fun time, but there were several factors that give it a lower rating. First of all, while the line dancing is the main attraction, it would be nice if every single song did not have a specific dance choreographed with it. It's a bit daunting to try to learn them on the spot because a lot of them are kind of complicated (sometimes I felt like I was in Footloose). They offer dance lessons at 7 PM I believe, but who wants to go to a club at 7? Second of all, this place was expensive. Being a girl, I am used to getting certain perks when I am out. We went on a Saturday night and had to pay a $7 cover fee. Really?! At other clubs, I pay $3-5 dollars TOPS and that's on the rare occasion when I do have to pay. Drinks were pricey too.

Not a true country bar but a bar for young girls dressed in cut offs and boots looking for a hook up

Definitely bring your ID, they check them. I had to go back to my car for mine. Once inside we had the best time with the bartenders joking as they got our drinks. DJ was awesome! Played our requests except for one, which wasn't country. Wished us a happy Birthday too! I will be a regular customer from now on!Thanks

I don't care what you have heard or what you have seen there. You must have just had a bad night because, yes it's a little expensive, but it's an amazing place && very fun... No tolerance to drama, which is awesome. Don't have to deal with beyond drunk people because they don't put up with it. If you get too drunk they cut you off or kick ya out. They are NOT rude they have RULES! I'm sitting here on a cheaply made wooden bar stool that wobbles. All of the stools wobble so don't bother looking for one that doesn't. Rumor has it that people actually pay $10 to get through the door. Pool league members (like myself) are privileged and don't have to pay a cover. We are also privileged to play on the incredibly slow tables while drinking $4 beers and listening to an annoying woman's voice drone on and on ("tap tap step step heel in blah") as we wobble on our stools. But no worries. The pool match will suck anyway because all patrons are required to wear idiotic wristbands, something many pool players consider extremely distracting. Don't try taking it off! "Jamie the manager" will promptly set you straight and then send you back to your wobbly stool.I do not recommend this place. Customer service is NOT a priority.
