What a wonderful piece of history has been preserved at this location. Right on the water and beautifully restored with great walking paths. The story of the indians, the mizzens and the person who saved it for future generations.

Off the beaten path, was on our way to Titisville and saw a historical marker sign for Seminole Rest, was a little was to it thru the Country side. Nice parking lot, has a restroom, self guided tour, informative signs that tell the history and story of the mounds. Nice view of the water. The builds were not open, but still enjoyed the paved path and boardwalk. And it is Free!! Glad we stopped.

We were met by an extremely well educated Park Ranger who taught us so many interesting facts not only about that particular place but about other parks as well. It was very interactive and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

My fiancé and I decided to visit after eating at Goodrich's seafood restaurant down the street. We really enjoyed the scenery on this walk and enjoyed walking out on the boardwalk. There are spectacular views of the water. It was really nice for sunset. The buildings were not open when we went so it was kind of boring. We did understand how it was built on an Indian mound but I am assuming the whole thing was built on the Indian mound. Overall this is a nice walk to do if you are in the area and have some spare time. We will not be returning since we have been there once already.

There is a half mile walking path around the park. If you look side to side you will find little informational signs near the vegetation. There are larger signs around the park that describe the history of the area. There are two homes on site to check out when they are open. Great place to go for a walk with a view.

Came here because of a class assignment and was struck by the beauty and peacefulness of the area. Sadly the visitors center was not open but the signs along the pathways were very informative. We will be back.

Fabulous renovation of this old FL. homestead site. Took a launce ride from Canaveral Seashore Pk over andback including a stop here for a guided tour and walk-a-bout. Olde Florida living, fishing looks "easy" and mosquitoes big& hungry inthe summertime!

As you walk through the grounds, you will find markers that tell the history of where you are standing. From the parking area you will start to learn about the Timucuan Indians from 2000 BC and what brought them to this spot, up to the Snyder Family that lived here from 1911 to 1988. What impressed us most as we strolled the 1/2 mile walkway was the quiet and beauty of the land. Looking out over the Mosquito Lagoon, you can feel why the people of the past would have chosen this location. It's a bit out off the beaten path but it was a joy to visit ! We were told of this place by a co-worker, who just happens to be married to one of the last members of the Snyder family to have lived there . . . I don't know if I could have given up such a magical place but, as he said. it's for all to enjoy now ! Take him up and give it a visit, it won't disappoint.

A lovely, easy walk taking you back in time to the pre-development era. The views of Mosquito Lagoon are beyond description. It is so quiet, you can hear the fish jump! All paths are flat and well-maintained...no challenge for wheelchair or disabled individuals. This is a great place for little folks to run and explore a bit without disturbing anyone. Wish the house was filled more with period pieces than turned into a gift shop, but there is no entry fee, so perhaps the shop generates a bit of income. I wouldn't count on the nearby restaurant. A quick trip inside to see if we wanted to; "give it a try" ended in a decision to drive on to something less "rustic ." Suggest a picnic on the grounds of Seminole Rest, much more appealing.

Really nice place to walk to from the cabin at Oak Hill Fish Camp, and half way between Goodrich's Seafood. Also would be a nice place for a lunch on the lawn and maybe layout or fish from shore.

An ancient Native American Mound with a half-mile wheelchair accessible trail with wayside exhibits. The site has parking and rest room facilities. It is open 7 days week from 6:00 am until sunsetSeminole Rest consists of several prehistoric shell mounds dating from 2,000 BC to 1565 AD. Snyder's Mound, the largest mound at this site, is unique because few structures this large remain intact today. Two turn of the century buildings occupy the mounds and have aided in their preservation. The National Park Service now preserves the site. Goodrich Seafood Restaurant and Oyster House is located a 1/4 mile north of this site and is an excellent choice for dining and viewing the Mosquito Lagoon.
