the dam pub at hidden river resort

DAN sure is working to make the Dam Pub MUCH better. Since my last review he has added a band stage outside and has bands each weekend afternoon. He is even fixing the parking lot!!!! MUCH BETTER FOR THE TWO WHEELED crowd.... his bartenders still rock and you will NEVER find better wings anywhere in Sumter county Florida!!! Keep up the progress Dan things are looking good for the pub!!!

My wife and I went there last week.My neighbor here bought the place about 6 months ago.He cleaned up the backyard and put tables up and built a bandstand deck to accomadate good folks.Its open and clean and right on the river.Bands will be performing outback too.I had a 1/2 lb loaded burger and big giant crinkle cut fries,wife had a 1/3 lb burger and fries also.Hamburg was fresh as can be along with great buns too.Heather,the bartender kept us occupied too.Shes young and pretty redhead with a nice boyfriend.She made us feel welcomed from our entering the door.I used to ride my motorcycle there every so often a few years ago.Dan cleaned up this place alot.Bikers come here but they are great too.I hung with bikers off n on all my life,they are funny and great to know.Its a nice bar to relax at for sure.

Hey, I was reading here, and see the Dam Pub isnt faring well with the reviews.... Well, its a local water hole, its nothing fancy. Its a biker/air boater type hole in the wall, get your beer on, and the only thing close to this town for excitement for miles... I have been bugging Dan to fix the parking lot, because while all those huge pot holes are not bad for the air boat crowd, they are hell on bikers.... so, if you are in town, and just want a beer at an old bar with lots of locals, then come on in. The big dam wings are pretty dam good, and yeah its a pretty good bloody mary if youre not looking to be high falootin... um, and remember it is a little bit like going back in time, lots of "good old boys" here........ but this place isnt the best, and by damn sure isnt the worst...........

We took a ride to visit the Wysong Dam Park to look and take pictures of the Dam, walked over to have a drink at the Pub. We were told to have a bloody mary, don't know why all the fuss about the bloody Mary's, it was awful, overpriced tomato juice but looking around well.Our server was not friendly and acted like we were disrupting her conversation with her boyfriend about where they were going to ride. The smell inside was like a burning dump truck and the yelling and cursing was a little more than overbearing. Our harms stuck to the table (we did laugh).Never again I guess from now on we will just go salt free.

Sorry PsiBear did not take the leap of discovering this place, down to earth bar/pub with good food and a great staff, especially Mary behind the bar, talk about a really good bloody Mary. Yes, hard to find, and filled with salt of the earth people who enjoy a good drink and some good tasting food without all the hoop-la associated with the higher class restaurants. If your afraid to hang out with people you don't know who enjoy the ability to socialize with friends, old and new, stay away, but if you want to be greeted by all there on your first visit as "hello new friend", take a leap off the comfort wagon and enjoy an afternoon.
