We couldn't believe that we were the only ones there the whole time. It looks like it's fairly new- Bathrooms, brand new playground equipment- very nice too- with paver walkways at the beginning. There were millipedes everywhere, crickets, bees, grasshoppers, spiders... but none of them bothered us. The climb up is a work out in the soft sand but well worth it. It is really nice out there, Watermelons growing wild and wildflowers everywhere. We took the white trail and it ends far from Lake Apopka. We turned back and went down the orange trail which meanders down to the lake but we never got a good view of it- and that part of the trail is really overgrown. We were pulling off tons of stickers the whole way. Very little to no shade, I read that the trees were cut down for lumber years ago. We would love to go back in winter when it's cooler.
