We have been going there since we moved to the area 12 years ago and try to attend all of their fabulous activities. What we appreciate is the variety of events, activities and lectures that are offered. The atmosphere is casual, social and educational.

Driven past Trout Lake Nature Center a thousand times and thanks to Trip Advisor I finally stopped to check it out. So happy I did! This place is something special. The museum has an entire table of things you CAN touch. Lots of awesome mounted animals. Live ones also. Very educational. The nature trail, boardwalk and pier on Trout Lake are awesome. Lots of wildlife activity. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and plan on volunteering in the near future. It's incredible that a place like this is free of charge and run by volunteers. Totally worth a visit.

Now days it is hard to find something worthwhile for free! Trout Lake Nature Center is a nice place to spend a couple of hours enjoying nature. They have a nice center where you can normally find some outstanding nature photography by local photographers and a list of upcoming nature and educational lectures. The small museum has some old ragged stuffed critters and interesting items that children can actually pick up and touch. I love the boardwalk out to Trout Lake and just the time to reflect on the beautiful lake once you reach the end and take a seat on the bench. Seldom will you find a crowd there and it is so peaceful. Bring your binoculars and if you are lucky you will see at least one gator plus lots of birds. You will enjoy visiting with the wonderful volunteers who are always happy to see a visitor and to tell them about the area. ENJOY ...something GOOD for FREE !!!
