My husband and I wanted to take our grandsons somewhere quiet. This was our first visit to this particular stretch of beach. There is limited access if you drive slowly and look for signs. We found a place to park with no charge. It was a cool, windy day and the boys wanted to look for shells. We have been to better Florida beaches for doing this but we still enjoyed our time here. There were a few young families with kids digging in the sand but primarily it was some older couples walking along the shoreline. I can only assume it was a school day in St. John's county because of the lack of children. We stayed for a little over two hours (and could have stayed longer) but one of the boys got tired with all the walking. They each had a bucket of 'treasures" and had found a "driftwood sword". They told us they wanted to come back another time. PARENTS: *Make sure you stop to use the bathroom before arrival as I did not see a public restroom anywhere. I would also suggest having some bottles of water and a few snacks waiting at your vehicle for your return home.*
