Nice short walk in the winter I bet it's buggy in the summer The moss in the trees were very picturesque would be a great family walk.

I traveled here with my BSA troop back in 2012 or 2011. The view is nice, the fishing is good and it's a quiet place to be.

This little gem of an island is such a find. Close to the Mayport Naval base its hidden down a neighborhood street. This is a pristine natural island that you can drive to walk around , launch your Kayack take a picnic lunch and enjoy. Dogs are allowed on leashes so that's why I went.

This place is hard to find, but worth the effort. You can walk the entire trail system in an hour or so. Two boardwalks take you out into the marsh where you're likely to see herons, egrets and other marsh birds. I saw woodpeckers as well while we walked the trails. There are always people fishing, and there's a place where you can launch a kayak or canoe.

Dutton's is a free park and scenic boardwalk/dock that takes visitors out into one of North Florida's beautiful salt matches that has not been threatened by development. A sunset photographer's, pole angler's, natural beauty fan's spot to rest a while and enjoy your surroundings. A word of caution, the park closes promptly as noticed on the signs at the entry and, once locked in, you're really locked in...

Nice but basic hiking/biking trails, birding, put-in for canoes/kayaks. Can be buggy, but this is North Florida. A pleasant place to visit - figure no more than 2 hours unless you're boating.

The.Duttonn island preserve is well hidden, and not very well known. That's why it is such a gem. It is basically an island that was once owned by the family of Charles Dutton. It consists mostly of marshes, but has some very heavily wooded forest areas also. Their picnic tables and barbecue grills at the entrance area, and also further into the park, near the boat launch. The launch is only for kayaks canoes, and other personal craft, not for motorized boats. There is a fishing pier and a dock where you could dock a powerboat coming from the outside of the preserve. It's absolutely wonderful in the spring, winter and fall, but in the heat of the summer the insects are pretty atrocious. It's a wonderfully beautiful park that I highly recommend for laid-back comfortable afternoon.

The first time we visited this place it was for a 5k we were running in. Before that we never knew this place was there. Lots of trials to walk on and some boardwalks along the waterway. There is also access for paddle boarding or kayaking. You can even rent the island out! It's usually pretty quiet, bring the family and enjoy the view.

Great local trail. Good for families and well patrolled. Kayak launch and two different places to fish.

I enjoy taking photos here but it is very isolated. I always go with someone else. Nice trails and good boardwalks.

Great peaceful retreat to enjoy nature wildlife and coastal views. Atlantic beach is doing great work with its parks and green space. Easy access to kayak, fish. Often go to drink my morning coffee and read the paper better than any living room I have ever sat in.

This park is a little known gem. It has a few trails and picnic spots and there is a huge board walk that stretches over the marsh and there are a number of places to fish. It even has a public restroom and plenty of parking. But what I found most interesting on the water. We had a great experience here kayaking with the Northeast Florida Sierra Club. There is a good area to put your kayak into the water and the kayak trail is pretty well marked. It is subject to the flow of the tides, so its important to check the tide tables before you go. We saw a lot of wildlife and there was an area where you could pull your kayak out of the water and take a break.
