We went out of our way on our way to Chicago to see this tomb. It was great. S great piece of history and absolutely beautiful granite and marble walls and tomb. A must see.

one of the more important pieces of our nations history. It's very moving being there. There is a docent there to answer any question you may have and they also do guided tours.

I am so glad I experienced this must see piece of history with my children. The memorial gave me goosebumps knowing I was close to this monument and that I was able to share with my kids an important part of our history. I literally cried.

The Lincoln Family tomb, along with the family home downtown and the museum, are a trifecta in Springfield, if you love history. The tomb is simple in some ways, but more than you expect in others. Well-preserved, a guide is there if you have questions. Awesome to be where the family (except Robert, who was removed to Arlington along with his own son) is buried. I have read so much about all of them in my life - it was almost like visiting the gravesite of someone I knew.

I love history and it is very interesting to walk around and learn different facts about Lincoln and his life. Inside the tomb you can ask the attendant to tell you more about the memorial and about Lincoln's life. Once inside you can stand with Lincoln, his wife, and all but one of his sons. The War memorials are impressive and each unique. I will say that the computer for the WWII memorial was not working which was disappointing.

Lincoln's Tomb is a great place to take your family to further education on Lincoln. The bonus is that it's great to get fun photos of your family with the Lincoln statue and the kids have a great time rubbing Lincoln's nose for luck. If you are there at the end if the day, there is an opportunity to participate in a flag lowering ceremony. This was the highlight for our boys. There are reenactment soldiers and they do a military style ceremony with a gun salute. It is very beautiful and a great summer activity.

The solemnity of walking through the tomb adds to the feeling of your visit. In summer a flag lowering experience with Civil War reinactors is a fun evening event. Changes are being made now to update the original entrance in preparation for 150 year anniversary events in 2015.

This is definitely a must do. It is so moving to stop here and visit and see the inside of the tomb for one of our great presidents. Also worthy given all the problems they had keeping him here. Make sure to visit the temporary vault and carillon down the hill.

When we arrived we were old that they were having a changing of the guard ceremony before they opened the Tomb for tours. Very Educational. Most definitely worth staying to watch.

This is a "must see" when visiting Springfield. Very few times have I been more moved and brought to tears while attending a national monument. This is truly a sobering and wonderful place.

The Lincoln Tomb was very self explanitary and the Volenteer was very helpful and enthusiastic about the history. The kids loved rubbing Lincolns nose outside.

To think that Lincoln rests under this monument is very moving. The setting is attractive, even in January. The volunteers are very eager to provide background and information.

My guess is this cemetery is very crowded during the summer. Almost no one present when I was there. It's not just his magnificent tomb, but also the war memorials on the other end of the cemetery.

Came to see the tomb before heading back home. It's hard to miss once you enter the cemetary as it is tall and sits on a hill. Unfortunately it was closed the day I came so I couldn't go in. Just very impressed how tall it is though Lincoln was a very important man!! The war memorials are a little further down and consist of the WWII, Korean, and Vietnam war memorials for the state of Illinois. The Korean War is forgotten about so it is nice to see a memorial for it. The cemetery is massive and it is easy to get lost though there are signs around.
