Went on a little road trip and ended up in Decatur. I had heard of this place before but I didnt think much of it since it used to be a grocery store. When I got inside there had to have been around 50 or so cars many of them rarities such as a corvette zr1 or the last corvair to be built. It was amazing to see also one of Dale Earnhardt's nascars and many pace cars from the Indy 500. The staff were very knowledgeable and answered any question i had. A must stop for any car enthusiast!

Loaded with classic Chevys, all beautiful. Cars from the 1920s to the early 90s. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and obviously loves these cars. My husband knows a lot about classic cars and loved this place.

There are a lot Indy related vehicles here but still plenty for the general car fan. The collection has a lot of unique and original examples of Chevy muscle cars. All the cars are in immaculate condition. Loads of other Indy and Chev memorabilia. Entry was very cheap we thought. It can be a bit hard to find using the listed postal address with your GPS. Try using "Decatur Plaza Shopping Centre" to find it as that is the strip mall it is located in. We would certainly check this out again if we were in the area because this is not all of the owners private collection so the cars do changed around a bit.

Easy to drive by because it is tucked into a strip mall and the sign does not catch attention. Displays inside have a heavy flavor of Indy, but plenty of other cars and historical objects make the visit worthwhile. Not far from zoo. Easily fit both in and still had plenty of day left.

I have been in the building many times, as far as the museum EVER being opened, that is a mystery to me!!

not sure if this museum is still open as I have had some tell me it closed, better call ahead. It did have a restaurant available.

Very nice collection of not only automobiles but lots and lots of memorabilia. They have a focus on Indy 500, but the collection is still quite diverse. The space seems a bit tight for the amount of cars they have, but that does not detract. It's very nice to be able to get up close to these cars and view them in comfort. The building could use a bit of work. Case in point is the bathroom. You have to enter a garage door, locate the light in the dark on the stairs and head up. Just follow the sewer smell.Still, the staff is passionate about the collection, helpful and friendly. This is the kind of place that you hope makes a go of it simply because the collection is so cool and the staff obviously really enjoy what they do.We spent about 2 hours looking through everything. At $7 a head, this didn't seem like a bad deal. We did not try the Cafe attached to the museum. It was sparsely attended at noon, which didn't seem like a good sign.

Located about 2 miles East of the lake on US 36, IT'S ALL CHEVY, ALL THE TIME.. Pretty impressive collection of 70-85 autos from 1928 to present in a +30K sq ft nice building. 15 Indy 500 pace cars, corvettes, muscle classics, lead sleds, pre-war, trucks, NASCAR, vintage racers, etc. and tons of collectables from way back on every wall. Marty the manager gave a great tour and explained how each vehicle was significant. Great stop and definately worth the time, even for Ford fans.
