We have been occasional customers of Krutas Bakery for a lot of years. A primarily Polish bakery, it is always busy with lines at the ordering counter. Try the Madison cake! Everything is very good. The older waitresses take no prisoners, don't be timid!

It is just a wonderful bakery. Have not gotten anything bad there. Service is great. A little bit of wait most of the time but they are well staffed so it is not long. Well worth the wait The best pastries ever. The cheesecake is my favorite.

Collinsville is my home town and a visit isn't complete unless I go to Kruda bakery. It just gets better every time I go!!!!

Kruta's Bakery is THE most authentic bakery you'll ever hope to find. It's a 2nd Generation business, with the heart and soul of the true American Dream.Every delightful delicacy that you find at Kruta Bakery offers a delicious reward. Our favorites include the Apple Horn, Apricot Comb and the newly returned, Napoleon!!The Gooey Butter Cake is indescribably amazing! It's difficult to describe...somewhat like a cheesecake, but the texture and flavor(s) drive you mad.Kruta Bakery is lovely. It's clean, well-managed, and filled with helpful and friendly staff. There's a self serve coffee bar, and you can stock up on cookies, homemade dog treats, or buy special order cakes. They create unique iced sugar cookies for each holiday - pumpkins, ghosts, Christmas trees, Valentine Hearts, rabbits for Easter, smiley faces, etc. We LOVE them! The best part of going to Kruta is that it feels like tradition. We walk down the street, take a number (because it's often crowded), and eye the cases full of fresh-baked goods. It's a neighborhood bakery (yes, we chose our home based on its proximity to Kruta's). We love that it's a 'Mom & Pop' business. We hope the tradition continues for many generations to come. The folks who own it so obviously care about their customers --- Kruta's is a real gem!

I have just moved to the Metro-East area and many people recommended this bakery. Having grown up in a town that prided itself on polish/italian/greek cuisine/pastry, I was skeptical that this could compare to the memories I had as a child. I was pleasantly surprised, however upon my visit to Kruta's,Upon entering the store, I was greeted by the sights of artisan breads and sweet smells of fresh delicate pastry. Each item in the glass looked as perfect as the next and equally as appetizing. Even though I had been advised to arrive before 10 AM, there were still a number of fresh items to choose from. There were many customers happily chatting while waiting in line for their turn to order.I would highly recommend Kruta's to anyone who enjoys a bit of indulgence from time to time.

We saw this place on Trip Advisor and had to check it out. We stayed in Fairview Heights for a couple of days but made it a point to drive over one morning for breakfast. They had a wide variety of regular and cake donuts, danishes, cookies and breads. WARNING, no chocolate plain donuts except on Saturdays is what the lady behind the counter told us. Oh well my daughter liked the chocolate cake donut just as well. I had the apple horns and they were delicious too. There are no tables to eat at inside this place but there were two outside. This place is more for picking up and taking it with you. It was worth the visit and if we come back to the area, we will definitely come back.

Stand-alone bakeries are getting harder and harder to find, but this one is a gem. There is a large selection of breads, cakes, cookies, and specialty items. Everything we've had has been incredibly good. Definitely worth a visit!

Not sure why, but the wife loves the donut holes. Could be a nostalgia thing going back to her high school days, but none the less... I make the drive from O'Fallon, IL to grab some every so often. Cheescake is a little different and not as rich as what I'm used to - nice change of pace.NOT OPEN SUNDAYS!!!

We used to love Kruta's but it has really gone downhill. The last few times we've had birthday cakes from there they tasted like they had been frozen and rethawed to decorate, the cake was soooo dry you HAD to have ice cream to swallow it.

Some of the best cakes, cookies and pastery around. It's best to go early as lines can be long, especially on weekends.

Walk into Kruta's and let yourself drift back to a time when outstanding bakery goods were the norm and not the exception. Everything here is freshly baked mainly because it gets sold as soon as it is put out. The white cake with white icing is really, really good. The frosting is thick and smooth. Add" frosting roses" for an extra nice touch to your cake. My wife got me a cake for my birthday tomorrow. I can hardly wait to eat it! The gooey butter cake, a St. Louis specialty, is extremely gooey and tasty! They have these things called "fudgies" which is devil's food cake, topped with chocolate frosting! I can hardly wait to try more delicacies at Kruta's.

Forget Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts--Kruta's Bakery is ten times better! As soon as you walk inside the aroma makes you salivate and have a tough decision--how much to buy. Cream puffs have custard, made at the bakery, that oozes out with each bite. November begins the Holliday Bread season that draws many to the bakery, but don't wait too long, Holliday bread is offered until the new year. Kruta's is the best bakery and worth the wait if it is crowded.

I grew up down the road, caught the school bus to high school at the corner that the bakery in on. The best bakery I have found, I have lived in four other states and can't find a bakery that comes close, the gooey butter cake is wonderful!! Best coffee cake, bread, cream horns, etc.etc.etc.. Every time I am in the area I never leave town without bringing these wonderful treats back with me. The only problem is this time I only got one gooey butter cake and my husband likes it more than me!

They have been around a long time. Not always at this location but as a child my parents always ordered holiday bread from them and that was over 30 years ago. They still have the best gooey butter cake around with just the right amount of goo.........cream puffs are real and home made. Great place just farther for me to drive now.
