If you are looking for the best place to camp, fish or play on the water this is the place. It reminds me of being a kid when you were able to camp, fish, build a fire, launch a boat right @ the waters edge. One of the few places left that you are able to do this anymore. Head on highway 188 either from Payson or from Globe, when you get to the Roosevelt bridge turn south on Hwy 88. The turn off to this campground is 3.1 miles from Hwy 188. Come in the middle of the week or early on Friday because it fills up quick. Make sure you bring a Tonto Pass to avoid a ticket. Camp ground does have port-a-johns. Please RESPECT this hidden gem as to preserve its beauty.
