Monument valley is amazing. There care some part of it, where you cannot go without a local guide. We took a tour. It was expensive, but very interesting. Our guide explained about Navajo people lifestyle. He took us to beautiful places. Even the tour was expensive, I recommend it.

My family and I did a jeep tour with this company and we loved every minute of it! We didn't reserve any tours before heading to Monument Valley and we found these guys once we were in the Tribal Park. They gave us a great price (it was cheaper than if we would have booked it online) and we had our tour guide all to ourselves. Our guide, Myron Red Mustache, was AMAZING! We did the 2.5 hour tour through the restricted section of Monument Valley. We stopped at a couple of stops along the Scenic Drive and then went into the restricted section to see Hogan Arch, Sun's Eye Arch, and the Ear of the Wind Arch. When we were at the Hogan Arch Myron sang to us. The acoustics were amazing and it was such a wonderful experience. I would DEFINITELY recommend this tour to anyone. It was one of the best guided tours that I have ever been on!

In April my family and I took this tour with a tour guide by the name of Bobby Atene who was one of the nicest, coolest tour guides I have ever had. He was very eager to impart knowledge of the Navajo nation and culture to others and was very patient. He played the flute really well, that is to say the Dineh version, and we were all moved by his playing. The rock formations were awesome and made great photographs. The road was a little bumpy for those tour trucks, but of course you know that the valley is not the suburbs. In the middle of the tour, we actually got caught in a sandstorm whipped up by a sudden cold front. Bobby was apologetic, but I did not mind, as I reasoned that if we are exploring a new place, we would take the inconvenient with the good and really experience it. In the end, Bobby recommended reading the Book of the Navajo as a resource for the history and culture of Dinetah, and he and another tour guide welcomed us to return. I later borrowed this book from the library and read it from cover to cover. Thanks, Bobby!

During my third visit to Monument Valley, I once again hired this company to take me to photogenic areas that are unavailable without a Navajo guide. In the company of Ray Begay, we spent 8 hours in the field, divided between sunrise and sunset opportunities. Ray was of immense help in setting up photo subjects, and I would heartily recommend his services to anyone wanting to photograph the inspiring beauty of the Valley.

We reserved an all day tour of Monument Valley with Monument Valley Tours (http://www.monumentvalleytours.net/). We had a Jeep and driver/guide all day for a trip into Mystery valley and the back country of Monument valley. We started our day with a drive into Mystery Valley, an area beyond Monument Valley. Our guide had grown up and had family living there throughout the years. We say many beautiful arches, native drawings, ruins and so many other sights. Our guide even sang us a song in Navajo. We later had lunch, a local favorite, Navajo taco, which was like a taco pizza with chili on it, it was good. After lunch we went into Monument Valley and into the back country. There we go up close and personal with a number of the monuments. We went many places where only a local guide can take you, and were you can't get to without a jeep. This was a very personal tour and well worth it.

The fellow I worked with while making my reservation was very patient and helpful. He needed patient as I was still in the planning stage of when I would be there. The night before my tour I stayed at the Wetherill in Kayenta and gave me a call to check in. I took the Mystery Valley tour, the Navajo tour guide was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable: this is his turf. We asked a lot of questions and had a lot of fun. This was the third tour of another couple from Belgium. Next time I want to do the sunset or sunrise tour.

The valley itself is mind blowing. the heat is intense, In early June it was 40c, so it's a bit hot, but as long as you drink water regularly you will enjoy the trip. The Navajo Indian guides were brilliant and seem genuinely to enjoy showing us their reservation. I expected to see John Wayne come over the hill, it is just like you see in the movies. Wonderful and thanks again to the guides who made the trip even more enjoyable. Must see.

La Monument Valley Tours (ex Totem pole tours) è un'azienda a conduzione Navajo molto affidabile e lo dico perché è la seconda volta che la uso per fare il giro della Valle. Sono puntuali, danno buone spiegazioni e, soprattutto, il tour lo fai da solo! è la seconda volta che, infatti, siamo solo noi e si parte lo stesso. Capite che avere la guida a tua disposizione è un'altra cosa. Non ti fanno fretta, poi, nelle diverse pause per fare foto. L'unica pecca è che quest'anno si viaggiava su un pick-up riadattato, per cui la guida parlava tramite un altoparlante che durante il giro impediva una comunicazione bidirezionale, ma pazienza. Consiglio il tour delle 18 in cui fa meno caldo e i colori sono più vividi.

Sono andato a Monument valley con amici si rimane impressionati dalla bellezza naturale. Ci sono pietre enormi in mezzo alla vallata, dove è facile vedere ogni tipo di somiglianza con animali. Il giro è molto bella unica pecca e' la strada che è davvero molto disastrata e con una macchina bassa come la nostra, una focus, abbiamo fatto un po' di fatica, soprattutto nel primo tratto. Ma vale il rischio!
