Who would have thought, just one hour out of Tucson. Nice drive, pretty country side. It is a day trip and there are few wineries but it was a fun day! People were friendly and the wine was good. We really enjoyed ourselves. Pleasant surprise!

Great vineyard -- worth the stop!! Three friends own this business, they are great guys and very personable and will give you information about how the wine is made if you want to learn about that.

This is a fun place for wine tasting! They play great classic rock tunes while you sample their wines. The variety of wines was awesome, and the hosts really take the time to explain each wine. Terrific experience!

We are sorry your experience wasn't better at our property. We offer a competitively priced tasting flight for $10, which includes a high quality 22-oz Bordeaux-style long-stemmed wine glass that is yours to keep. A tasting flight consists of six pours and is an equivalent volume to a glass of wine in a fine restaraunt. This style and presentation is pretty standard in our small wine industry in Arizona, though varies from property to property. On occasion, customers will request fewer pours based on their own wine preference (for example, some customers only want to taste our red wines). When this happens, we are happy to accommodate their request with the understanding that the cost of the flight is not pro-rated. To pro-rate a tasting flight is difficult to do logistically and not practical financially, especially when there are other guests we are serving. Keep in mind that wineries survive on small margins.I have spoken with the sommelier who poured for you and reminded this person of our commitment to provide outstanding service to our guests. We hope to see you back in our properties soon.

A great couple of guys. Wine tasting with a story. I really enjoyed the conversation of how to cook a steak to go with the wine.

Despite being increasingly busy, they took the time to answer questions, tell us about each wine in turn, and others not on the tasting menu. No pressure to buy, and so informative and helpful! A great variety especially of reds. I felt like an honored guest, as did everyone visiting on a jam packed, extremely windy day.

Last time we visited here it was Canelo Hills and we remember some excellent wines. The new owners seem to have taken on the mantle and are taking it to the next level. The wines they inherited from Canelo were already top quality, but now Flying Leap are starting to produce their own, and nothing has been lost. It's a very down-home winery, very simple and quite small, but the whole experience was terrific, especially as the wine-maker himself, Marc Moeller, was there to do the tasting and talk about the wines. We'll be making it a regular stop when we go through Elgin.

Thank you for your feedback about your tasting experience at our estate winery - we always appreciate hearing from our customers, and we are always looking to improve and enhance their experience with us. Flying Leap is a team of farmers, winemakers and wine merchants. As such, our focus is on growing high-quality crops, producing exquisite, genuine estate wines from our harvests and giving our customers detailed knowledge of our wines in a comfortable setting. Our tasting room at the winery is small, but it is nicely-apportioned and provides what we feel is a clean, comfortable & functional venue for sampling and learning about our viticulture and wines. All Flying Leap staff are trained sommeliers, and we strive to provide every customer with an enhanced understanding of our products, which I am heartened to see you enjoyed and experienced at our winery. However, Saturdays are very busy in Arizona's wine country, and we often have large crowds in our properties. I am truly sorry that the congestion in our tasting room marred your experience at Flying Leap. We do our best to ameliorate this but having our sommeliers come out to pour for our customers away from the tasting bar, and we provide comfortable seating and a beautiful, handmade white oak table with benches for our customers who prefer to sit. That notwithstanding, I understand the limitations of our venue, and we are doing something about it.Flying Leap is planning large facility expansion at our estate winery in Elgin, which will break ground in 8 weeks. The new venue will significantly expand our winemaking & cellaring capacity, and we will sizably augment our tasting room, as well as enhance it's appearance and comfort for our customers. We hope you'll continue to come back, so that we can share our expansion with you, as well as our ever-coming new releases. I appreciate your comments, have taken them to heart and want to assure you that Flying Leap is committed to integrity, quality & customer service, as well as education.

My wife and I, along with two other couples, had the pleasure of spending a day in the vineyards and winery with Mark Beres of Flying Leap Vineyards. Mark's passion for his vines and wines can only be matched by his commitment to Southern Arizona, his family, and his employees. He gives credit to all of the past and present Arizona winemakers but has the knowledge to take Arizona winemaking to the next level. If anyone will put The AZ wine industry on the map, it will be Mark. If you are visiting Southern AZ, I highly recommend that you contact Mark at Flying Leap Vineyard whether it is for a lodging, food, or a wine recommendation. I will never look at a bottle of wine the same way!Walter S.

We enjoy frequenting the Sonoita/Elgin wineries and Flying Leap is by far our favorite. The wines are excellent and the staff goes above and beyond what is expected in making the experience memorable. We learn something new each visit about wines and winegrowing. Rolf, the tasting room manager, is great. He knows so much about each wine and manages to keep everyone's glass full. The owners are such great guys. They love showing us around the winery and educating us. Their enthusiasm is contagious. Don't miss this winery!

Very small tasting room. The staff was very friendly. The story behind their logo was very interesting. They had a lot of red wines which now I understand is because reds are easier to grow and produce in the Arizona heat.

All the people working here were extremely knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely care about their wines. We purchased the Verdelho 2012 and the Monsoon Red. We had a lot of wines they let us taste. Wished we could have bought them all! Great wine! Hope to find some here locally! Thanks!

Terrific tasting room! We came in a group for my birthday and we has such a nice time. Rolf seated us at a table and brought the tastings to us. We were greeted right away and made to feel very welcome. Rolf came by from time to time to fill us up and share his insights on the wine- he was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The wines were all really nice- we were super happy with the tastings which cost 6$ for the flight (we brought our own glasses). My personal favorite was the 2011 Granacio ($29 bottle), which was so very nice! Everyone at the table also enjoyed the 2011 Head Over Heels ($30.85 bottle)- rave reviews all around. This tasting room was a different experience compare to the one we had while in Wilcox, more laid back and casual (they even had some lounge mood music piped through the room, very chill vibe)- I was really happy to have such a great time here with my friends.
