The staff at the welcome center are the nicest folks I've ever encountered. They make visiting the square easy

Don't miss this welcome center....doesn't matter if you are from the area or a out of town traveler..... the ladies here have a wealth of knowledge about the area..... I was born here and they still taught me a thing or two!

Wonderful visitor's center for Marietta with helpful, knowledgeable people staffing it. There are lots of maps and brochures on what there is to do in the area and all the famous historical sites too. You can buy tickets here for the Christmas tour of historic homes which is one on the top tours in the southeast.

I always stop by to check events to come. Very friendly staff. The one event that I won't miss is the Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour. I love strolling through the houses and admiring the renovations, Christmas decorations, and the neighborhood. Negative: I always think that the price for the tours are a little on the high side, and some houses have no business being on the Tour (2013 they had what I called "The Chair House" so not worth the visit).

The two ladies who anchor the welcome center are so kind and helpful! They love to chat, so do come with some time to enjoy their stories and information about the area. They have tourist information about the Marietta Square, all of Cobb County, additional must-sees in Georgia, Kennesaw Mountain Park, as well as calendars of local events like the free concerts, art shows, and farmers' markets.

The staff is friendly and knowledgable. There are brochures for just about anything you can think of to do in the area and the staff can give you great tips on when to visit, where to park, etc.

Honest helpful people staff this place. They can tell you everything worth seeing in the area, and suggest places based on your interests. Worth a quick stop to talk with them.

The ladies was very helpful and knowledgeable you get a discount for visiting all three sites Gone with the wind museum, The Root house and Marietta history museum which I would highly recommend if you have the time. Nothing I disliked.

Visiting Marietta, GA for the first time, I found the Visitor's Center in downtown Marietta to be very helpful and informative. The woman who worked behind the desk was very pleasant and epitomized the spirit of "southern hospitality". For example, I wanted to take a trolley tour of the Marietta area, and she called ahead to be sure there was room on the trolley for me. She also gave me information for all the coming events in town that coincided with the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. Marietta was a wonderful southern town. This was a very enjoyable experience!

if you come to the Marietta area this is THE place to visit FIRST. They have ALL the information you need regarding historical sites, museums, driving tours, etc. If you have any questions the staff are more than happy to assist you. They are engaging and will make recommendations for just about anything local.

We went here to get more information on the Civil War and they have it! Plenty of attractions in the area to see!

This is definitely the place to stop before you begin a tour of Marietta, or even if you have visited many times. It's housed in the old train station, and you have to cross the tracks to get to the center from the parking lot. As other reviewers have said, there are LOTS of brochures and the staff of locals/volunteers gives insider tips. Spend a few minutes here and enrich your overall visit.

Great place to stop by for your first (or 50th) visit, always something new to learn about Marietta and the area. Information available about the Marietta Square (shops, restaurants, events) as well as surrounding areas. As the staff and volunteers are local, they often have insider tips about best times to visit, suggestions for other activities, and helpful tips (parking, handicap accessibility, etc).

The Marietta Welcome Center and Visitor's Bureau is in the old train depot and offers a museum exhibit free of charge. The docents in the visitors center are always helpful and informative and the building itself is beautiful with wide wood floors and brick walls. There is a huge assortment of brochures for Marietta history and points of interest along with information for surrounding areas. Also available lots of southern and Marietta related giftware. Definitely worth a trip if you enjoy learning about history and want to know more about Marietta.

Staid, too prism and proper - be warm and welcoming - it'll help keep us around longer! Plenty of brochures and restrooms available.
