you can actually watch them make the wine as you sample each. The town is cozy and nice shops lots of hiking, rafting and surrounding lakes.

A group of six lady friends prepaid for a four hour hike, lunch and winery experience with Dante. We told him upfront that we might run late because of our flight. We called and left him a message and texted him an hour before our scheduled meeting time that we were running late but were in route, even with the rainy conditions. We arrived 45 minutes late - he was gone. No phone call or attempt to meet us - he had our money. He finally returned our phone call after we posted a complaint on Paypal. We agreed to a refund in full less the cost of the food, and stupid us took Dante's word and removed the Paypal complaint. The evil man lied and told us his boss would refund the money as agreed - never happened - he refunded a small amount and gave us a "Coupon" for the next time. Dante is a LIAR AND A THIEF. I would NEVER do business with him, and neither-should you. Hike on your own and drive to the lovely winery. Do NOT do business with Dante Skywater. He will keep your money and never return your phone call.

We stay at Igls Resort when we go. It is timeshares but also available for public rentals. Very comfortable for two couples with a nice golf course available. We have hiked to several waterfalls in the area and around the lake at Unicoi state park. Very easy trail. Lots of good restaurants and shopping in area and some very good wine to try. I think l like Habersham wine the best but Yonah winery have some good wine as did Tiger Mountain Winery close to Tallulah Gorge. This state park has excellent trails and beautiful views. Watch for announcements of water releases as this makes the waterfalls much more spectacular. Favorite restaurant on pricey side is Glen-Ella Springs outside of Clarksville, GA.

We ate lunch at a restaurant along the river and watched the groups tubing down the Chattooga.Enjoyed the cool breeze in the open air venue to eat lunch. The town had many shops to visit. It was a quaint Alpine village for an easy walking adventure.

Visited here with my wife, (was suggested by my late mother), and we really enjoyed it. The town is set like a German village, quaint, friendly and out of the way, but a great place to spend a few days enjoying the scenery and the wine shops. Was really impressed with the wine, bought several bottles and souvenirs.

This experience combined two things that I adore: hiking and wine! I had such a lovely time, a day that I will remember for years to come, and hope that others will enjoy as much as I did.
