Coolers Creek Pottery is a wonderful place to visit warm and friendly people. This is real country. The charming pottery studio is in a barn. They have a lot of beautiful hand made pottery, created with a real love for the craft in mind. The atmosphere is wonderful. They are three generations of potters. You walk through the front area into the main studio where the walls have hand made quilts hanging on the walls. There are pottery wheels set up where the work is done. The is even a wood burning stove in the corner. The kiln room host several kilns of many sizes. They creativity and care of their art is so impressive.Do your self a favor and stop by. This is one of the many things that we love about the mountains.

I attended classes here and the owner/teacher Linda Woody is truly outstanding. She has the wheel, slab and sculpturing available. If you don't want to spend the time making your own Linda has plenty for sale. While I was there they made sets of dishes, took orders and make beautiful sinks for modern or log cabins. That is Chandler s forte. I have been quite pleased with the way I can express whatever I want and Linda and her son Chandler is their every step of the way. The pottery barn is just lovely a true must see. If your driving along Hwy 60, be sure to stop in an see what I mean.
