I'm a GSU student and I really enjoy this place. I learn somethingnew every time I go there. Family centered area as well.

The weekly story time with small craft project was a perfect activity for our summer. The playground is nicely shaded and is pretty decent though it is geared more toward the over 5yo crowd. There are not a ton of animal exhibits but there is a nice trail to walk on. The annual pass if more than affordable and makes this a great weekly adventure for us.

I run a nature center and am a professional educator/administrator. Georgia Southern has done an excellent job with this center and the grounds. Nice trails, wildlife exhibits and friendly staff. My kids learned a lot and enjoyed seeing the wildlife. I was impressed with their interactive areas, graphics, and grounds. They have done a lot for a university supported facility and a limited staff. Don't hesitate to visit!

This should be a don't miss visit when coming to Statesboro. It's great to wander through the Wild Life area to see hawks, eagles and owls in a natural setting, but come to a flight demo if you have the time.

My family and my niece went there one weekend and I was slightly disappointed by the fact that they had the birds tethered to trees and not free flying in their exhibits. It was raining that day as well. Nice place that was the only let down.

We went with a school group and had a tour guide. The kids loved it. The animals both indoor and out were a great hit and the guide was very good with the kids. It would be fun in a smaller group like a family outing but would be a bit shorter of an outing. We love it!

GSU Center for Wildlife is a fun, educational experience for all ages. My 6 yr. old grand daughter especially enjoys the animals.

This was a pleasant surprise. The facility is very welcoming and well laid out. There was a small fee (I think $2) but honestly the visit was worth more, in my opinion. It was great to get a close up look at Freedom. We saw a very well done presentation given by a couple of students. Parking can be an issue on the campus but there was plenty of parking reserved for Wildlife Center guests.

I have taken my 12 grandchildren to the Center for Wildlife Education at GSU many, many times and they never get tired of seeing it. The birds of prey exhibit is outstanding. There is a demonstration each day with the birds flying. Each day there is an educational exhibit about reptiles with hands on experience ( if you chose). There is a playground and many, many other activities. It is a wonderful experience for young and old. This center has been the model for many other ones in other states. It would be a shame to come to Statesboro and not visit the Center for Wildlife at GSU!

This is definitely worth your time! The Eagle's nest is huge and gives a true perspective to these amazing creatures. Steve Hines is incredible with the animals and his paintings are great! Very interactive. Fun for all ages.

Its a mini wildlife habitat right on the campus. They have several rescued birds to include bald eagles. You can play with the whole colony of tortoises. There are several snakes, spiders, frogs, and an alligator. We were able to see them feed the animals and allowed to pet the snakes. It cost 9 dollars for 6 of us to get in, gift shop prices were reasonable. The money goes straight to care of the animals, we liked that even better than just donating!!! Will be going back to see some of the shows they have in the amphitheaters.

Visiting the wildlife center was our reason to be in Statesboro and we are so glad we saw it. There are numerous raptors (injured and not able to return to the wild) and other wildlife on display, with good information about them. They have an aerial raptor show on Thursday afternoons (at least when we were there - may be on other days in warmer weather) which was great. We saw several hawks and owls and the staff have them fly right over the audience's heads. We were actually brushed by their wings! Quite the experience. We also got to meet and have our pictures taken with the mascot of Georgia Southern University - the bald eagle Freedom. We happened to meet the director of the wildlife center, Steve Hein, who is also Freedom's keeper who gave us the background on the establishment of the center and brought out Freedom for us to meet. That was really terrific and a highlight of our 3+ weeks sightseeing in Georgia & Florida!

Great place to take children, Lots of interaction with the staff and the visitors. You can get up front and personal with the animals.

Not what you'd expect to find on a college campus, this beautiful and well-maintained natural site allows you to see majestic hawks, eagles, owls, and other native local creatures in a perfect setting. Handlers are trained and highly interested in educating the public. The live shows are a must if you want to get the whole experience.
