threw hundred yards of moss covered rock shoals not more than 2 feet deep in most places make for a perfect place to skidoo along the moss n mud in clean swift moving water. quiet, usually not too crowded during the week. historic village at entrance by covered bridge invites as does frisbee golf course. small pavilions and picnic spots are available with grills and camp fire pits.

I've heard of this park through disc golfing but had never been here before. Thankfully I came here as part of the Jackson County Heritage Trail Geo-Tour. They had a wonderful geocaching game set up where you explore the buildings of Heritage Village. We loved going through the old school house and marveling at the other buildings. The little one loved running in the nicely maintained grass. This is another place I would have never come to if it weren't for the county's wonderful geocaching tour.

I am proud this is a part of Jackson County where I live. HSP is a beautiful park with many pavilions you can rent, beautiful shoals, a Spirit of the River mini golf course and a village of historical structures from around the county. Every year they have a huge festival called Art in the Park that is great. It is great for families.

the river running thru the park is shallow and the kids and adults can wade in the water. the historical buildings are fun to explore. the park is peaceful and enjoyable.

I really enjoy visiting this park. Several old building and farm implements have been placed on the property. There is also a small river with several nice cascades, and a covered bridge.

Hurricane Shoals is a great local park with a historical village. There is also a great grist mill and putt putt golf course, one of the most challenging I have ever played.

Went there several times, both with groups & by myself. Really liked the old mill; which I like to collect photos of & info on; the covered bridge, the beautiful scenery, especially in the fall. Great place to visit .

I’ll have to say this was a great day trip. As others have stated, it’s very a family friendly, fun, and educational spot for everyone who’s looking for a day respite. My kids LOVED the water, playgrounds, and historical homes/cabins and buildings. For those taking youngsters or the elderly; PLEASE be careful. The grounds around the water areas are uneven and especially slippery around the water. Our family took more than just a few falls. I watched as others did the same. PLEASE, take your time. Additionally, there were a few “little water puddles” that my four year old thought would be great to jump in. On one such occasion, he completely disappeared under the water as it was about a foot over his head. After a moment of recovery, we spent most of our time there and had a great time overcoming a fearful situation. Overall, our family had a great time! It was a joy to go somewhere that lots of activity and historical education were all in the same location. We'll be back soon I'm sure.

Hurricane Shoals is one of my most favorite places to go to walk. Beautiful scenery and water flowing over the rocks. It has lot of play grounds for kids and nice covered bridge. There is something for everybody there.

This is a great place to just get outside and play. The historical village is very cool to walk through. They have disc golf, the creek for the kiddies, picnic tables, putt putt golf and playgrounds. The 'Art in th Park' fesitival is very fun too.

I just love visiting this park. Its a perfect spot to cool off on a hot summers day. Bring the family out, pack a cooler and have some fun. While this isnt the best place for swimming, sliding down the rocks can be fun. It does get slippery, so beware. There is sometimes a snack bar open and they do have a cute little outdoors ampitheatre. There is also an heirloom village and covered bridge. I've seen lots of people having family photos taken here too.

There isn't all that much to do at Hurricane Shoals, but that is a plus as well as a minus. For the most part, this park is uncrowded and natural. It's a great place for a walk, a good place for a picnic, and for the adventurous, a good place to ride some rapids on an inner tube, but you'll have to bring your own. There is a putt-putt course, which is not open all of the time, but it is on weekends, and that is not free, and picnic shelters can be rented for a fee. Mostly, this is a free park, and there are some cool historical buildings, too.
