Went biking on the trail. Nice views of river and other scenery. Different types of trees are identified throughout the trail. Additionally, the trail has distance markers throughout. Very easy trail to bike as the paved section is completely flat. The actual map lists the mileage at 11 however, it appears not to be complete yet as my wife and I rode the entire trail and then some resulting in only 7 miles. The entry to the park is conveniently located just off Interstate 16. So for travelers wanting a quick break from driving, it is a nice stop.A boat ramp is also on the trail and I have observed kayaks on the river. Additionally, a sign is posted at the boat ramp revealing to be careful of currents if swimming. Thus, I assume you are permitted to swim in the river.Looking forward to when the trail is completed as it is a nice leisurely bike ride.

Ocmulgee Heritage Trail is a great place to go for something different. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful with security so you can feel safe.

Nice place to walk, run, just get out for a little while. Needs more security, gets a little unsafe sometimes, but overall a good place to relax and enjoy nature.

This park is a wonderful way to walk along the riverfront in downtown Macon and view the Ocmulgee river. The Ocmulgee is a little appreciated river that winds through Macon from Jackson Lake where is begins. It is the drinking source for Macon and a pleasant stroll along its shores awaits you. Great place to walk, jog, or ride bikes. There are stairs and a few steep climbs as you cross to the other side of the Ocmulgee. Enjoy!

Been here a number of time. This is a nice place to take the kids on a little walk or short bike ride. There is a little park with swings etc for the kids to play. Pretty safe during the day but gets a little iffy at evening. The bums start to show up as the sun goes down.

If it is not blistering hot, this is a great place to take the family and enjoy the day. There are walking trails and bike paths in addition to the other amenities. If nothing else it is a great place for a picnic.

I was not able to walk the whole traiil but did enjoy the walk by the river and the Gateway Park; statute of Otis rdding is amazing! There is a fountain near the statue that children can play in and the Spring Street entrance has a nice playground. There were benches and picnic tables but I think those have been removed because they had a problem with homeless people . I do suggest that you not walk it alone - need someone because there are some rough terrain areas.

Nice level path to run (I think about 3 miles round trip) that felt safe to this traveler. I parked at north end on cul de sac of a neighborhood. Parking lot on Spring St. has porta pottys for those of us with small bladders. :)

Beautiful by the river. Benches. Take a leisurely stroll. You won't regret it. Bring a friend. Bring a picnic lunch.

I run here on weekend mornings and just love the quiet space. I do with people took better care of the place as there is often lots of trash littering the playground area, but I don't blame the Trail for folks being stupid and careless. We're lucky to have this great place in Macon!
