We were on a multi-family vacation and took a trip to Bent Tree Stables. The adults and bigger kids rode the trail and the littler kids took a lesson in the ring. As a former professional rider and instructor, I must say that I was impressed. The staff members were all safety conscious while making sure we had a good time on the trail. The little ones enjoyed their lesson and had just as much fun as we did. We will definitely return!

The family went up to the Blue Ridge area for a few days to enjoy the outdoors. One of the request from the kids (12 and 15) was to ride horses. We checked out several stables recommended on Trip Advisor (the one in Hells hollow and one right outside of Blue Ridge in Cashes valley). We decided to not go with either of these based on first impressions. Bent Tree Stables outside of Jasper was recommended to us so we called Deborah and booked a time with her. Upon meeting Deborah we could tell that she is a horse lover and experienced. One of the first things she told us after learning that the kids had not ridden before was that she needed to get them on a horse and make sure they were safe and able to manage the horse before she would lead us on the trial. As mom, I could appreciate her wanting to keep the kids safe and free from getting hurt. I work in a hospital I have seen too many experienced horse riders end up seriously injured so her concern for safety was appreciated. She gave us each a lesson on how to sit on the horse, hold the reins and guide the horse in the manner in which the horses were accustomed. On the day she took our family out, she had a visiting friend, Wendy, walk along side my 12 yr old to ensure her safety as we went up and down hills, by a stream bed, and on to the water fall and lake. Deborah did a great job with my family and the kids rated the horse ride as #1 on the things we did as in Blue Ridge. If you are in the Blue Ridge area check this place out. It may be a 30 min ride from Ellijay but it was worth it. You will need the GPS to get you to the stables once in the Bent Tree neighborhood, but the scenery and personal attention is well worth it. Thank you Deborah. Your horse trail experience gets two thumbs up. The Davys from Franklin, TN
