My son and I drove through Dillard after rafting and zip-lining and what an excellent stop! The area is beautiful, the horses well mannered and the staff were polite. But wherever else in the world would you find a trail ride through the river???? It was a blast and we will never forget the experience. The guide was very attentive and kept us away from the deep areas (it was a very rainy week) so that we would be safe. The horses were all very comfortable and seemed fine with walking belly deep down the river. They have a great petting zoo that is lots of fun while you are waiting for your ride. Would definitely love to stop by again for another ride!

While on vacation in the area, I planned a surprise ride for my 7 year old daughter who loves horses. My dad decided to join us. The three of us had a really enjoyable time. Kasey checked us in and she really couldn't have been more hospitable. Lexie was our guide. We loved her. She was laid back and personable, engaging my thrilled little girl in lots of conversation. My daughter rode Sadie, who was very tame and gentle. I can't say enough about what a wonderful time we had. Thank you Dillard House Stables and Staff!!

My wife and I went on the One hour River Ride on our trip to Sky Valley and the Smokey Mountains. The ride was $45 each and we rode through scenic back country and up the river for about 10-15 minutes. The horses were beautiful and well trained, our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. If you enjoy the outdoors the horseback ride was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Sit down, order a beverage, enjoy the apple butter cornbread & relish, and watch. Their entire menu is brought to the table on plates, in bowls, and baskets. The food is excellent Southern cooking with farm fresh tasting vegetables, topped off with Apple Betty and ice cream. Take you time, order more, eat till you're full then take the leavings home in a box.Wow!

My self and five of my friends did the 1 1/2 hour horseback riding trip with Dillard Stables last week and it was excellent! It was the ride through the little Tennessee River and was truly a unique and fun experience. We had two guides, one at the front, one towards the back, and they were very knowledgeable, fun, and attentive. It was a gorgeous day, the horses were great, and the trails were very scenic. Definitely would recommend the trip!

We have been to Dillard a couple of years ago on a family reunion and have been trying to get back since then. We finally did it. We were here at the end of July and it was gorgeous weather. We did the river ride first thing in the morning when it was still cool. The horses are very friendly. My daughter loved Sadie. The guides are very friendly and made us comfortable on and off the horses. The ride is something you need to experience.

We have been going for 5 years and can not believe I have never given it a review. We try to go to this area a couple times a year, this is wear my granddaughter got her love to ride. They also have the best petting zoo we have ever been too, The coolest animals ever. The owner Pam Thompson is so helpful, nice and friendly. All the instructors are the same way they are there for the inexperienced to the experience riders. My granddaughter has had several over the years and loves them all. Then their photographer is awesome. Kurtis Miller is one of the best photographers I know. Please get him to make pictures while you are there, I have gone just for him to do photo shoots of my granddaughter and even my Yorkie. He is so good I want him to come to our town to make her Senior pictures and Wedding pictures when the time comes. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place and all the wonderful people that work there.

Thank you again for another great time! This time it was to celebrate my in-laws 43rd anniversary. We had 2 great guides - but I only got Karly's name - The other family that was on our ride was inexperienced and the ladies took wonderful care of the children, making sure they were ok. The only bad thing... the photographer was not there this time and the fact that I do not have proof that my father in law rode a horse was a total disappointment. But the ride was awesome and it was such a beautiful time. Thanks again.

Extraordinary! Add this to your bucket list! The river ride far surpasses any trail ride i've ever been on, including Yellowstone National Park. We didn't just cross a river - we rode well trained horses downstream nearly belly deep for about 45 minutes in a tree lined river. Split rail fences bordered beautiful meadows, the trails out of the river wound up and down the mountain woods. If you ask ahead, the photographer can arrange photos while you are in the river. Don't miss this.Worth the price!

We took our three grandkids and parents for a river ride. They live near Disney World so they are used to big attractions. They thought the ride was wonderful. The guides were very attentive to make sure everyone was safe and had fun. the youngest was 11 and had never been on a horse before. When he was done he thought he was king of the mountain!

The River Ride was beautiful and truly a wonderful experience. Thanks to the wranglers, Cassy, Jenna and Cody. The grandkids, 10 and 13, wanted to go back the next day!

We stayed at the Dillard House and booked the horseback ride. Me being raised in New York City never rode a horse before, They assigned me Buckwheat, he was the calmest horse I have ever seen. My nerves were running like crazy when I got to the stables and once I got on Buckwheat he did his job. The guides were great and the horses all did well. After a few instructions and I was on my way. By the end of the ride I really enjoyed my trip and became an "expert". will do this again for sure

This was my teenage daughters' first horse ride, and they loved it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to, and the horses were calm and well-behaved. Riding down the river was a fun treat.

We visited Dillard house stables after seeing it here on trip advisor. We took our three year old daughter to ride for the first time. It was wonderful. They had gentle horses experienced with little ones. You can lead the horse with your child or have their staff do it. It was $10.00 for her ride! They have a fantastic professional photographer that takes candid action shots of your time there. They offer trail and river rides for older children and adults. The landscape is beautiful and I can't wait to go back to do the river ride. The staff is knowledgeable and treated the horses and other animals well. Their prices are very reasonable and you leave feeling you received a lot for your money. A definate "do it for the day ". You can also hit Dillard house for lunch before or after your activity.
