They have a wide selection of about 18 wines. There is no tasting fee for up to four tastings. You are not permitted any more for free, nor can you purchase any. You can, however, come in every day for 4 more for free. If you like ALL types of wine, it makes it difficult to choose. We tasted one day, then came back later in the week with our tasting sheets in hand to try 4 more that we were not permitted to try the first time. The wine itself is quite good. I'm sure that any wine lover would find something they like. Our server was helpful and patient as we selected our 4 wines. She would not pour any until we had all of them picked out. They also have a very nice gift shop. While I give kudos to any winery that gives free tastings, the restriction of 'four and no more' kind of limits your experience.

I provided what type of wine I was looking for, and I tasted 2 types (no charge ) and purchased 4 bottles. The store is small, but has a nice selection of things to buy including an opener. It is located on the town square and close to other shopping.

My husband & I were visiting Dahlonega on New Year's Eve and decided to visit this establishment to purchase a bottle of wine to celebrate. Upon entering, the clerk informed us we could do a tasting of their wines for a cost of $5.00. We agreed and told the clerk we intended to purchase wine and what we were looking for. Since we were purchasing, she did not charge us for the tasting! She was very accommodating and helpful in our wine selection. We purchased the Belle Blush and Scarlett wines, several bottles. The Bellle Blush reminded me of a white zif and the Scarlett a Malbec. There was also a variety of gifts in the store. The clerk pointed us toward a sale corner from which we found several items. The overall experience was very good and we plan to visit again on our next visit to Dahlonega.

Group of 8 went in for paid per person ($5.00) wine tasting. Staff not overly friendly. Had samples of dips on counter and seemed annoyed that we sampled them and kept referring us to the available dips for purchase on the shelves. Sales tactic?? If so, it was a poor one. Enjoyed several of the wines, but due to the uncomfortable feeling, we chose to purchase them at another store within the Square.

We really enjoyed our visit to this tasting room! The staff was very friendly and took their time explaining the variety of wines available to taste and purchase. There was quite a large selection available, and we came home with several bottles...need I say more?

Great tasting room value with a wide varieties of wine to choose from including wines from Habersham, Creekstone and the now closed Blackstock. Some of the Habersham wines are made with muscadines. I personally don't like muscadines but their peach wine didn't have that muscadine wang and will make awesome Sangria. The bonus here was two wines which paired well with chocolate so they gave us some chocolate to try with it.

This is a great first stop into Helen. There are many wineries to choose from. This one is free. The wines are good and the staff is knowledgable. Wine is a great gift for friends too.

Heard good things online so we checked it out about 2 hrs. before it closed on a Fri. evening. The tasting room/store is located in a stand alone bldg. Two other couples were at the counter so it was not busy. The staff was rather distracted bantering with each other and didn't really try to engage us in any conversation. We did the tasting of 4 choices that were all pretty good. You can see the barrel room but no info. was provided nor any real description about the wine making process at Habersham. The shop has cute gifts that we've seen at many, other gift shops in other areas of the country; nothing really special or unique. Have say though, the palate cleansing crackers did the job and were really good-not the usual oyster type served at tastings.

I love Habersham, both this tasting room and the winery in Helen. They offer some of the best dessert wines. We especially love the Belle Blush, Peach Treat, and Granny's Arbor. They have great prices. The $5 tasting is the best you will have in the area and their staff is always very kind and knowledgeable.

Four of us visited Dahlonega on July 6. We were walking around the town square to visit small shops and listen to music. We enjoyed a visit to Habersham Winery Tasting Room. For a cost of $5, a customer is able to drink a small sample of five wines. There were about 20 wines from which we could select the five that we wanted to sample. The lady that explained the various wines and provided the samples was very helpful. The wines are grown and bottled locally. Each member of our group sampled various wines. While they had a good Merlo, I really liked the Habersham 2011 Chardonnay. The cost of two bottles of the Chardonnay with tax totaled to just over $31. We had not expected to find this quality of wine grown in Georgia. The next time we go back to Dahlonega, we plan to visit this wine tasting room again.
