Plenty of room to roam and enjoy. Call ahead to find out when interactive events may be happening. We especially enjoyed the gardens and the barns.

The Center is a tribute to an outstanding Georgian. The film is not to be missed! Very moving and educational. This man was the American dream.....poor mountain farmer to published poet and novelist.Give yourself a good hour to take in the essence of what he accomplished. Be sure to see the barn and outbuildings..

It is the home of a famous poet who live in the area and who use to farm the land. It is an amazing story of Byron Herbert Reece who lived and grew up here. You get to see and walk through his home and farm land. It is a nice and quiet walk through his house and barn at are along a creek.

This farm and center is very well done with an excellent Emmy winning short film about his life and the mountain culture. The farm, museum grounds and buildings are well maintained, organized and displayed.

This was a great historical place to visit. They have farming that is the way it used to be years ago and the place is named after Georgia's famous poet. Bryon Herbert Reese. A small fee of $3.00. Defnitely worth the money.

This site, former home of poet Byron Herbert Reece, has been well preserved and developed by the county. It has a beautiful little gift shop full of mountain crafts. And for only $3 per person, you can tour the farm. Very educational for kids. Nice walkway that leads to and along a rushing creek. Outbuildings have signage that describes their use in the old days, and they're staged with props to make it look authentic (fake meats in the smokehouse, chickens in the coop, etc.). The barn has many exhibits about mountain foods, farm practices, and more. For those into the writing aspect, there's a short film about Reece's life. The staff here is super nice. Pay them a visit.

A pleasant and very informative view of life in rural America on a small farm at the turn of the 20th century. Interesting story of the life of poet / farmer Byron Reece. Well presented replicas of farm buildings with authentic tools give visitors an idea of how hard life was and yet how beautiful it was, through Reece's own words.

This is a new attraction in Union County. It is very well done and includes a lot of information about the early days in the mountains. The barn has all kinds of exhibits showing how the early settlers lived and worked. A lot of Byron Reece information is displayed. The Farm is very clean and well kept. My daughter and granddaughters really liked the visit.
