My husband and I arranged a private tour with Gabi from San Sebastian to Rioja for wine tours/tasting. It was a day that we will never forget! Gabi was very well prepared and had arranged for us to meet with some of the smallest and most prestigious wine making families in Rioja. It was a beautiful, very personalized experience. She shared information on the culture, language, history, and wine throughout the day. She even shared photos with us after our trip! We had the chance to stop on the grapes at one of the wineries and it was so much more than I ever expected. I'll always remember the people we met that day and the experience we had. Thank you, Gabi, for sharing your passion for the region, culture and wine with us. We're so grateful for the memories!

Gabi worked with my partner to put together a surprise bike/food and wine tour for my birthday. Gabi went out of her way to make our trip memorable. She picked us up from our apartment, took us to see the sites of San Seb, showed us the best of local wine and produce and then took us to all the best places to eat and drink until the wee hours of the morning. She also organized a cake with candles! We felt comfortable and safe with Gabi and she has a great sense of humor. Further, we met up with her the next day to watch the Regatta, which was a lot of fun. I highly recommend hiring Gabi. She'll show you the best of San Seb.

Excellent service! My wife and I took the Harvest Tour in Rioja with Gabi. We were picked up on time at our hotel in San Sebastian and taken to different wineries from all sizes. We were very lucky to take the tour when the harvest of the grapes had just started in the region. We were able to see all the different stages of wine making and even got to stomp on grapes on a small winery that had just picked them up that morning. This was the highlight of our wine route through the north of Spain. Everything was very well planned and organized. We never felt rushed. The recommended lunch restaurant was outstanding and Gabi went above and beyond by taking a bunch of good pictures of both of us throughout the day. We highly recommend this tour and any other offered. If possible, try to visit the region in harvest season: it will enhance the experience.

My husband and I were lucky enough to find Gabi while looking on tripadvisor for a private wine tour to Rioja. Gabi picked us up at our hotel and as we drove the hour and a half to Rioja from San Sebastian she gave us loads of information about the region. She was so knowledgeable and friendly! We decided on the Rioja contrast day tour starting out at a beautiful but bigger commercial vineyard for a tour and tasting. We then went to a very small medieval village and walked around a bit. Gabi choose an amazing restaurant for our lunch and helped to make sure they would accommodate my pescatarian needs. After lunch we went to another beautiful very modern vineyard and then to two very small artisanal wineries one of which was our favorite of the whole trip! The next day Gabi met us in the town of San Sebastian for the Pinxto tour which was incredible! We walked around stopping off at the older more traditional pinxto bars eating and drinking based off Gabi's knowledge and recommendations! We also went to a very cool modern molecular gastronomy pinxto bar as Gabi had planned to show us the differences between the traditional and modern food scenes of San Sebastian. This weekend in San Sebastian spent with Gabi was by far the highlight of our two week honeymoon in Spain and France! We cannot wait to go back! I would highly recommend Gabi and all her wonderful tours and vast knowledge!

Ana Gabriela hosted our "sea route flavored with Txakoli". We toured the Txakoli vineyard of Jose- Louis in the hills above the seaside village of Getaria and sampled the amazing Elkano Txakoli that Jose-Louis produces with great care. Ana guided us through the fish market to select the freshest fish which was then specially cooked at the outstanding Zelai Txiki restaurant..along with additional sampling of Txakoli. It was a great introduction to Basque Country food and wine. Gabi was so great at letting us experience things for ourselves and meet and learn from her friends that she introduced us to...but being available to interpret and explain as needed. I would recommend the Txakoli tour- and I imagine all of the experiences that Ana Gabi hosts would be wonderful.

My wife and I did both the pinxtos cycling tour and the grilled meat and wine dinner with Ana in the one day, it was one of the highlights of our honeymoon! Ana is a fantastic guide and host, EXTREMELY helpful in planning other local trips and just a nice person all round. If you are anywhere near San Sebastián you should go out of your way to organise a tour.

The three days that we spent with Gabi in the Basque country were definitely the highlight of our trip throughout Spain. Seeing the beauty of San Sebastian by bicycle, hitting the most delicious pintxo spots along the way, sipping velvety wines, all left us in a dreamy haze. Gabi saw to it that all five senses were pleased, from the sounds of the sea to the tastes and textures of the food and wine. On the second day we ventured out of San Sebastian and visited a few different medieval towns. We stepped back in time and visited magical churches on hilltops, crossed over ancient bridges, and drank coffee inside of a castle that still shows the scars of battle on its outer walls. After two days, we were having the time of our lives. And then it got better. On our last day together, she took us to three different wineries in the Rioja region. We started in the morning at beautiful bodega with long corridors full of mold, where we learned a lot and sampled lots of wonderful wines. Then we visited a very unique family bodega whose wine is made in a cave right underneath the town. We ended the afternoon at an even more intimate wine cave on top of a hill drinking some of the best wine of the day, watching the sun set on the Rioja valley while two cute little boys taught us how to count to ten in Basque. Gabi shared food, wine, and sights with us that have become cherished memories. Jimmy and Lila.

A friend recommended me to visit San Sebastian / Donostia and Ana Gabriela, theTour Guide from the ZaporeaZ - Gastronomia & Enoturismo . I must confess was one of the best experiences I have had in Europe . There were 2 days of Tour and they were both perfect ! The first day she brought me to taste the gastronomy of the city ! With a large and rare knowledge of the whole culture , she knew it everything about it , leading me to experience the best of the City and the fascinating history of the Basque Country and his very famous " Pintxo "! I was getting more passionate about local culture because of her knowledge of the place. On the second day was more fascinating yet, she took me to the Region of La Rioja with the plantations of grapes , wineries , adegas! All fascinating places including a castle on a high place, a cinematic view , amazing ! It is an unmissable for anyone who loves to travel! Unforgettable ! Not only for lovers of wine and gastronomy, but for anyone who loves what is " the best" ! Thank you the ZaporeaZ - Gastronomia & Enoturismo , and thank you Ana Gabriela because of your professionalism , knowledge, energy and sympathy. Was my best Tour in Europe!!

Having worked in wine and hospitality for such a long time I was keen to impress my wife of 30 years to the ulimate Spanish gastronomic experience. Thanks to a hot tip from an Aussie mate, we met Gabi and the newly established Zaporeaz in San Sebastain and were immediately embraced by her friendly warmth and charm. Our tight schedules were no problem and Gabi went out of her way to provide us with a very professional and knowledgeable but fun and relaxed and yes a number of yummy experiences throughout the Basque Country,San Sebastian, Rioja and beyond. We felt very special and spoilt and can only offer the highest recommendation for anyone wishing to experience this wonderful Region. Memories we will cherish forever and a friendship which will hopefully endure until we return.Simon G-WWine Educator , Rosemount Estate Wines ,McLaren Vale , South Australia

I told an acquaintance in San Sebastian that I wanted to learn about the local food scene and he introduced me to Gabi. I was on a tight budget and she worked up a 7-pinxo schedule, moving from bar to market to restaurant to bar that was the highlight of my few days in the city. We started with a bike tour--the 2-km bike tunnel was great fun--and then on to a bar for "gildas"--said to be the original pinxo--and txacoli. From there to the excellent city market and on and on for 5 hours to molecular gastronomy and a deconstructed lemon tart. (You see how the schedule moved from the old to the new, from a starter to a sweet?) Gabi is good company and her enthusiasm for and knowledge of the food here is just what I hoped. A big thumbs-up from me.

The highlight of my Euro summer trip was undoubtedly my visit to the Basque region's San Sebastian; and the best decision I made there was taking a tour with Zaporeaz. From the moment we were picked up we were treated like family by the guide who was engaging when she had to be and gave us space to enjoy when we needed it. The combination of the picturesque scenery of rolling vineyards meeting the deep open sea, the superb local cuisine and beverage, and the warm local hospitality in a family setting will have us coming back to the region and Zaporeaz soon and often. Thanks again Zaporeaz.
