We only came here because we bought a ticket that gives you entrance to all the main museums in the city. You can buy it at any of the main museums and it saves several euros if you visit all of them. We thought it seemed worth the money and so we decided to go to both this museum and the adjacent archeological museum. There is an audio guide that you pick up that you will need, as most of the display information is in Spanish. The building is very impressive from the inside and worth a look in its own right. The collection is extensive, but there is only so much that you can find interesting about playing cards, even if they are old and rare. Some of the artwork was very impressive, but seeing endless cards does tend to make everything blur into one. The audio is useful, but after a while you know what they're going to say. It doesn't take long to go round the museum, even with the guide, but I is worth a trip especially if you have the combined ticket like we did.

There are two museums here and based on the other reviews and a time crunch we chose to go first through the card museum. No complaints (it is free) but not all that exciting either. If you are a history buff or really like cards this is going to be special for you. If neither are your passion your going to be disappointed, as was I. Nothing wrong just kind of dull.The second museum (also free) was nicer and more interesting for us. This museum is a natural history museum for the local area.

The Fournier Playing Card Museum is located in the Palacio de Bendaña. Heraclio Fournier Gonzalez founded in 1868 a company that manufactured playing cards in Vitoria. His grandson Felix Alfaro Fournier inherited the company and he started collecting playing cards. Felix was the one who founded the museum. It has the largest collection of playing cards in the world. The oldest playing cards come from the 15th century and there are Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassic and modern cards. The cards come from many different countries. Many have wonderful artwork. The process of making playing cards is explained in the lobby of the building. The exhibits are ecological because they light up only when one approaches them.

In the city where a major player on the Playing Card production, Heraclio Fournier, was set up we can find what is mend to be one of the biggest and most interesting museums on playing cards.Inside a Rennaissance Palace you will have a historical, technical and thematic tour through the evolution of playing cards, from the Provencal packs and German Sheets from Middle Ages to nowadays.

First time we heard about this museum we were so-caled 'speaking' to a local man '(my castellano is of beginner level) when at least I could understand him a bit knew that it's one of the most interesting museums of Vitoria and it's free of charge. It was a real surprise when we came there to the museum because it's 2 in one - the Archeological Museum and Fournier de Naipes, both free of charge, with audioguides. The items to see are quite intereting and can make your knowlege bigger, the exposition is very nice and well organized. I'm still sharing my experience of seeing that Mueum with my friends. It's very unique and worth visiting.

Bonito museo, por su ubicación y temática, además con la entrada de solo tres euros puedes ver el museo arqueológico.

Es un museo de tamaño reducido pero muy completo donde se muestra la historia de las cartas a lo largo del tiempo y para todas las variantes existentes: desde cartas del tarot hasta los naipes que se usan por todo el mundo hoy en día. La entrada incluye también la visita al museo de Arqueología de Álava, el cual es modesto pero muy nuevo y bien organizado. Ambos museos se encuentran en el mismo edificio en pleno centro de Vitoria (calle Cuchillería) con lo cual se puede enlazar la visita de los museos con una rusta de degustación de pinchos.

Sin duda alguna el Museo Fournier es una visita obligada en Vitoria.La entrada vale 3 euros, y con ella tendrás acceso al Museo Arqueológico, sito en el edificio contiguo realizado por Patxi Mangado.Por la originalidad de su colección, cientos de barajas coleccionadas por la familia Fournier, así como por su tamaño, al parecer la mayor de Europa, merece una visita.

El Museo de Naipes de Vitoria,está situado en la calle Cuchillería,una calle muy estrechita,llena de tabernas y de tascas,del centro de Vitoria,yo he tenido la suerte de ir en el primer sábado del mes de enero y me ha salido gratis la visita,ya que en Vitoria,el primer sábado de cada mes,todos los museos son gratuitos;el museo de Naipes,está unido al Museo Arqueológico y en la misma visita puedes ver los 2 Museos;es muy interesante ver la historia de los naipes,desde sus inicios hasta la actualidad,por las diferentes etapas que va pasando su fabricación,como se va modernizando y la variedad de naipes que se recogen en este museo,merece la pena verlo,os lo recomiendo,su horario es de 10:00 a 14:00,los sábados y de 11:00 a 14:00,los domingos,por las tardes,está cerrado.

Por el precio de un museo, disfrutas de dos; ya que la entrada va combinada con la del museo de arqueologia. Ambos muy interesante y didacticos si vas con niños.En cuanto al museo Fournier es muy original y merece totalmente la pena

Bueno este museo narra la historia de la creación de los naipes. La imprenta es realmente un paseo por la historia y aun despues de tantos años, los naipes del sr Fournier siguen reconquistando las mesas de juego en todo el mundo. Una historia apasionante

es un sitio que vale la pena visitar, porque recoge toda la historia del naipe, la mejor fabrica de naipes era fournier, y su ubicación,era precisamente en la calle Heraclio fournier, visitar este museo os aportara, mucha sabiduría sobre los naipes

Es interesante, ver la historia de los naipes, cómo eran, qué significado tenían en cada época... , no soy mucho de museos, sin embargo esté me parecio muy entretenido.La entrada normal es de 3€, y pagas conjuntamente la entrada al museo de naipes y arqueológico.

Es un lugar entrañable. Lleno de cartas de hace siglos, y cartas mas modernas. el recinto que alberga este museo es un palacio precioso y en el centro de la ciudad(calle cuchillerías). Al lado esta el museo de arqueología que es fantástico. Se necesita unas 2 horas para ver cada museo. Precio muy asequible.Os lo recomiendo :)
