One of many beautiful chapels in Burgos Cathedral with beautiful marble sepulchres and majestic ceiling, altar, and paintings. What makes it unique? This is what the Burgos guide book says:Also known as Capilla de la Purificacion, it stands on a site of an old chapel dedicated to Saint Peter...the only remnants of the old chapel are the tombs of the bishops (1313 and 1380). This chapel is... one of the most significant late 15th century structures in thekingdom of Castile. In order to build it they had to demolish not only the old Capilla de San Pedro but also a number of houses that at the time were attached to the cathedral.The beautiful marble sepulchres are those of the founders, the Constables, Pedro and Mencia (I shortened their names) and are estimated to have been built in 1525, many years after their death.Another Chapel that I will never forget is that of Capilla del Corpus Christi in the cloisters.I will let the photos do the rest of the talking.

Incredible chapel inside the Cathedral. The entrance fee is included in the Cathedral entrance fee. Everything white and where the Condestables were buried.

All you have to do is look up at the dome, its gorgeous and absolutely worth the extra 5 mins you will spend in the cathedral :)

Например, капилья де Санта Ана (вторая слева) с великолепным ретабло работы Хиля де Силоэ, знаменитая капилья де Санто-Кристо (на входе справа), где на образе Христа имеются очень похожие на настоящие волосы и ногти, следующая за ней Капилья де Консоласьон с звездчатым куполом и многие другие. Однако особняком стоит, конечно, капилья дель Кондестабле. Еще при жизни ее заказали коннетабль Кастилии Педро де Фурнандес де Веласко, влиятельнейший вельможа, находившийся в настолько прекрасных отношениях с Изабеллой и Фердинандом, что титул кастильского коннетабля (фактически правителя области) был закреплен за его семейством. Он не дожил до победы Реконкисты всего ничего – умер в день падения Гранады. Но вместо памяти о его деяних все вспоминают его погребальгую капеллу со стороны северного фасада бургосского кафедрального собора. Она пристроена к нему так, что выглядит как бы отдельным сооружением, самостоятельной часовней и соседствует с великолепным порталом Пуэрто де Пельхерия. В ней также восьмиугольный (собственно, и сама капелла представляет восьмиугольник в плане) звездчатый купол, причем в большую звезду прозрачными и пропускающими свет лепестками красиво вписана маленькая. Но и ниже – алтарь, каменный ажур (резной фронтон, плинтуса, навесы) на стенах, картины «Распятие Христа» и «Магдалина» итальянских мастеров – видя все это совершенство и красоту, невольно замираешь и онемеваешь от восхищения. К его появлению на свет приложили свои руки те же родственные пары Силоэ и Колонья, а также Филипп Бигарни (это его с Диего де Силоэ работы изумительнейший алтарь в часовне).Равнодушным остаться невозможно.

La forma de como esta tallado todo en alabastro, unas magnificas fuiligranas, donde se hace necesario la fotografiar por partes diminutas, con el fin de poder observar después la obra de los artistas que tallaron estas imagenes

Apesar de ser pago à parte (5 euros) vale a pena para quem gosta de detalhes arquitetônicos e muita arte, o altar todo é muito bonito e poderá ver o túmulo do famoso casal. Se agrana estiver curta, só a igreja já vale a visita.

Esta frase es de la audioguia de la Catedral de Burgos.No es un exageración en cuanto a suntuosidad y valor artístico.Hay que detenrse un rato para disfrutarla.

Me salí encantada de ese lugar si bien toda la catedral es maravillosa, me ha asombrado enorme te el hecho de que tenga una capilla tan impresionante dentro su arquitectura es exquisita, y la historia detrás de cada componente de ella aún mejor, 100% recomendable! vale la pena todo lo que caminas en el recorrido

Hay que agradecerles a los Condestables que quisieran tener su capilla funeraria en el interior de la catedral y que esta casi rivalizase con su anfitriona. La capilla es magnífica y las esculturas que la adornan en muros, retablos y las propias estatuas sepulcrales, espléndidas.En el retablo de Santa Ana, la figura de la Santa con la Virgen y el niño es deliciosa.

Sin duda una de las más bonitas de la catedral. Su visita justifica por si sola el acceder al interior de la basílica. También muy bonitos el altar mayor y la capilla de Santa Tecla.

Asi es como te deja la mencionada capilla. Dedica un buen rato para apreciarla, Lo agradeceras. Y cuantas veces vuelvas a Burgos - lo digo por experiencia- te parecera nueva y maravillosa para volverla a explorar. Cima del gotico, quedara para siempre en tu memoria.
