This is a beautiful setting and a great use for fantastic woodland. You can spend £4 and park all day and don't have to spend anything else. Take a picnic on a fine day (the car park , a green leafy, spacious area, is brilliant for picnic/ BBQ- the children have lots of space to run around and play ball games etc even before you use any of the other facilities). The mountain bike trails are fantastic whatever your ability. Most riders are very respectful of children using the harder trails but at a slower pace (so long as you move aside) but there are less challenging trials of different lengths and many walking trails. You can hire bikes, GoApe, Segway and play on the very large childrens play area that is sandy. There is a cafe but I have never tried it, ice creams and lots of toilets- which aren't perfect because of the amount of use they get, I advise taking a few wipes and tissues with you. We have been many times and will continue to go back for years to come.

Luxury cabins, stunning surroundings and brilliant service from the Forest Parks team. Great value for money and a really great week just relaxing. Will certainly return.

We went with our children and Dog to enjoy the weather. Brilliant play areas, bring a picnic or buy in the (actually reasonably priced) cafe. Car parking £1 for an hour or £4 all day. Bike hire etc available. Lots of open spaces to enjoy ball games or sun worshipping. It also has those 'clean almost too good to be true' woodland spaces, filled with pine cones and beautiful scenery. If we weren't so far away we would be here every weekend. Lovely place.

Have been a regular visitor to Sherwood Pines over the years as I live locally and have enjoyed many a long dog walk there. There have always been the problems between the rude majority of the hire cycle families and dog walkers, not I will say, the regular mountain bikers who are always first to thank you for holding your dogs back to prevent an accident occurring. But this is nothing compared to my latest horror of finding some people are using the forest as a human toilet. My muzzled dogs have now on three separate occasions within this last week appeared with their muzzles dripping with yellow diarrhoea and on closer investigation I have found foul smelling heaps of human diarrhoea in 3 different parts of the forest. Disgusting and vile behaviour, it has totally put me off walking again in Sherwood Pines. I would like to see the Forestry Commission crack down on such repulsive individuals as they do with dog poop with on the spot fines for fouling the forest. Keep the forest clean and your germs at home.

We originally went to sherwood pines to do the gruffalo hunt, upon arriving we paid for our parking which was pretty expensive at £4 we wandered down into the cafe to buy the gruffalo hunt pack which priced at £2 is a little overpriced and largely unnecessary as the activities are parent led and the day is really what you make of it, the gruffalo trail took around 45mins but that was because we spent a lot of time exploring. We then decided it was time for our picnic which was a godsend as the cafe is very expensive. We also hired some bikes and took to a ride around the forest. We followed the green family trail as I had my 3yr old on a bike seat attached to my bike but due to diversions for tree cutting we ended up getting a bit lost and accidentally joining the blue trail that was quite challenging and a little dangerous when you have a child on your bike, despite this we throughly enjoyed our day. Would be a lovely day for anyone interested in nature or just walking as the only cost to you would be parking. But if you hire a bike or take your own the fun really starts. Brilliant day.

We visited with a 3,4&5 year old on the Gruffolo Hunt kids really enjoyed it.I thought parking was a little steep £1 for a hour or £4 for over 1 hour...There is lots of bike rides but we will do that next time..The only downside is it's very close to centre parks so it's very busy....But I'd go again!

We went to Sherwood Pines yesterday completely by accident. We intended on going to see the Major Oak, as I had a friend visiting from London and the Satnav took us to the wrong place. Sherwood pines is beautiful though and well worth a visit, especially if you like mountain biking

Whether you want a small walk, climbing adventure or even a Segway trail drive Sherwood Pines has it. The car park cost is the entrance fee. It has a wooden lodge for the Cafe. Sherwood Pines is walking distance from Center Parcs so it is very convenient for some extra activity. There are open air concerts on in the summer including Paloma Faith. The area is Called the Dukeries and this is due to the number stately Homes in the area such as Rufford Abbey, Clumber Park.

We joined friends for a Bongo meet here one Sunday - we were astounded how popular the area was given it was a cold February day. Lots of families and mountain bikers out to enjoy the park. Parking is either a fee for an hour, or £4 for anything longer so we paid our £4. On wanting to use the facilities, the warden told me they were closed as they had no water! Come on! In the US there would have been spotless earth closets, which are never closed if it freezes! Didn't see a reduction in my parking charge to compensate either.Otherwise, the park seemed a good spot to visit if you want to bike or walk the trails, and easy access from civilisation!

If you ever go to France and try a red route having cycled round here you will be in for a shock as the red route here is easier than a green (the easiest) in the rest of the world.Having said that its a fun way to spend a couple of hours so don't be put off by the description of it as being difficult, it's not. Anyone who can cycle off road will enjoy this introduction to off road biking knowing that it is really easy and confidence building.

We really enjoyed our stay in a Golden Oak lodge for my husband's 30th. The lodges were spacious and well equipped and we found them to be clean and perfect for what we needed. The hot tub was cleaned/ checked daily which we liked. We had no problems with any aspect of our stay and have already recommended Forest Holidays to lots of friends and family. Thanks for a memorable stay for a special occasion. We will definitely be returning in the future.
